Because roleplay is, in it's essence, spam to everyone else not involved in it.

I dunno, 6 or 7 years by now or something...

As for the web design class, please don't take offense, i'm only saying this from personal experience and hours upon days upon weeks of frustration. I am tired of seeing the horrors one year olds of web developers generate and terrorize the internet with. It is impossible to comprehend, understand and gain enough experience in just one year to use current web technologies properly. That multiplier goes up by at least 32 times if we are talking about courses and not personal study.
If you really want it, you will have marginally better results stydying it on your own and for quite some time - before your product could be inspected by seasoned developers without lots of aspirin involved. One year of courses will give you surface understanding of a few things, and abandon you amidst the hundreds upon thousands of llibraries, frameworks and toolkits with no idea what to do. That usually doesn't end well.

Hmm, yeah, quite possible.

[edit] check http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/41799/#cid:2068339

But be aware that DeviantArt style "stringing-together-several-icons-on-purpose-for-lulz" type of abuse will be frowned upon and prevented.
Cool! Thanks dude.
Also, not sure what you mean...I don't hang out on Deviantart too often...would it be considered abuse to have an icon-ized list of admired artists in your profile?

How about giving artwork related to Age Regression (sequence and otherwise) it's own category?

Offhand, I'm gonna say it's not going to happen because there's not enough demand for it, especially when the Pull-Down List of Doom is scheduled to be dismantled in the not-too-distant future.

Suggestion ensues! Instead of hoarding larger and larger new messages list in the website, I'd like to get notification of the new submissions in my mailbox much like HF does and not get any notification at all at FA itself. This obviously should be an option and not the norm.

Just some daily digest with links, titles and artist/author name for each is enough. And if you think the load won't be too high, offer option for sending mail per-submission instead of daily digest (I'd go for digest as the only option, though).

As an added bonus you might make it HTML mail and add thumbs for the submissions, but that isn't as important.

Very much like how you get notifications by mail of new submissions to threads you've subscribed to here at FAF.

Let me move this out of the primary area and put it in here.

Hey! Just a quick suggestion:

You know how places like traditional forums and Livejournal employ email notifications to let people choose how to be notified of certain events like getting a PM or certain people posting certain things?

Why not employ a similar system here!? Or, someone could create a widget that floats on the desktop giving us notifications like that. Think a custom RSS feed.

Just a through, and I figured with the Ferrox update in construction, it would be a good time to mention it.

I've got three suggestions:

1: An option to display a plain, default banner, if we don't like the current one or something.

2: People you watch having a list on the side in our control pannels. I really miss that feature as I watch alot of people, and loading up page after page to find one artist gets really tedious after a while.

3: Don't remove the pulldown menus for browsing- its really convenient and makes finding something alot easier.

Here's a suggestion: Make the site compatible with PicLens. It's an awesome way to browse images, and it already works with DeviantArt.

I would like to say that i would like to see a download section, so you know how many times your submission has been downloaded

Download = full view pretty much, and FA doesn't keep that sort of statistics, it's too taxing to do so.

Here is a suggestion for Prefar and Yak to consider. Is there a way to let us organize our galleries to better go through the submissions?

If so here is an idea that I think might work for everyone...

let us choose what we want to look at first, IE viewe all art first, view all stories, view all music, view all poetry, view all flash, etc.

Also can you find a way for us to empty our favorites gallery in a more efficient manner, such as delete all stories, art, music, etc. and as a security measure, have a qwuestion to make sure that we want to do a mas delete, and have the same feature for theother galleries and journals.

I would like to second the suggestion to add PicLens

http://www.piclens.com/

As far as I can tell it should be pretty easy to add.
Imagine browsing someones gallery like that.

I would like to third the suggestion for PicLens. The display that it provides for dA Galleries is a splendidly enhanced experience!

I guess I should start responding to this thread now.

I intend to support PicLens as well as is reasonably possible, yes.

Well, it's been said...But, Fused Forums+Site...But also one other thing...An event calendar. Like they have at Cosplay.com - http://www.cosplay.com/calendar/

Edit: Also...Perhaps, for the forums...Whenever YOUR post is the new post, not have the thread to YOU show that it has a new post...Just a bit nerve racking to post, then back up and see the icon that there's a new post...Kinda like false hopes. x3

Edit Dos: Perhaps emboldening the 'New posts' icons. For us who are practically blind(Or color blind...). x3
Not that I'm either...But...Distinguishing between the two is a bit rough for me.

Sorry for being so opinionated and being so new. -Cowers.-

PicLense is, of course, great - but i can't shake the feeling of just how much actual rape that things does off the content servers, both requests and bandwidth consumption wise.

1. If FA had unlimited supply of bandwidth, we'd be hosting videos long ago. Also, we'd have a ton of sister projects running. And stuff. But as it is now, we're struggling to support that little what we have already.
2. If your connection is slow, the thing will run like ass.

it'd likely save on bandwidth if there would be a crackdown on users that use this site as a photodump... or have the rules on that changed?

plus, of all the users on the site, how many would actually have movie files to upload that aren't crappy slideshows (with bad emo/goth/linkinpark soundtracks) or them goofing off on webcams?

besides, youtube and Xtube are available and can easily be linked to in a journal post.

*Creeps in*

...

A "Block user" button on the user's FA page and on comments they make...

And the option to remove offensive comments from your artwork and journals..

...

*Creeps out meekly*

call me cynical, but how about a "notify moderator" link on posts where a user believes a post is violating the ToS? (*yeah, i know, the mods are supposed to do that, but they are only human and sometimes they miss things.*)

You already have one, though it isn't well advertised.
Cilck on Control Panel.
Click on Profile.
At the bottom of your Profile screen is a text entry box where you can block users from commenting on any of your pages. Enter only one name per line. Be sure to spell their name correctly. Finally click on the button at the very bottom of the page or the changes won't take effect.

I may be wrong, but I think that blocked users can still see your pages, just not add anything to them.
