Definitely want to get behind this. I'm not desperate to change my own name -- "Flammifleure" would no longer be my choice but it still works -- but it very much seems like functionality that should be had.

It seems to me it would make sense to switch the "Prev" and "Next" links that appear below submissions. Currently, clicking "Next" takes you to the previous thing the person uploaded and vice versa. I can see the logic to it, since it's equivalent to browsing the gallery from left to right, but it's a bit counterintuitive for uploads meant to be viewed in sequence. I know there are "prev" and "next" links that you can put in the description for those purposes, but a lot of people don't use them.

I'd be nice if the old feature on the submission pages that told you how many submissions were in the gallery was reinstated on the main site.

Thanks for the consideration.

Seconded. I can understand wanting to put things in left to right order, but "previous" and "next" have chronological implications, and linking older submissions as "next" doesn't comply with the standard meaning of the word.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has as of yet worked out a sorting algorithm that will display content fairly with such a filter

For a very long time deviantart had a "random piece/random user" widget that when you clicked it, took you to as the name implies, something on the site at random. I suppose that's the best one could do.
Also given the percentage of FA that's pornography, I'm thinking that a similar concept applied to FA would lead to moslty pornography getting showcased, which is already what happens organically. The main difference with sorting by "popular" is that the fetishes would get more niche and average quality would likely drop.
Not saying they don't deserve their work to be seen, of course, but someone who just created their account and isn't using it in bad faith deserves it just as much. No one should have to fight an algorithm to get to have some 5-30 (assuming art, which generally moves hella fast) seconds on the front page.
You're not "fighting" only an algorithm, you're "fighting" the site's business model. It relies on clicks for revenue. Therefore it's only natural that it would prioritize the content that gives it clicks, it's a win-win situation as it both feeds the site and gives the average user better access to what he or she is looking for. Users are making an account for free and thus may not be entitled to an audience as far as it would encroach on the site's financial viability.

So yeah again an account is free, users are not entitled to an audience. Instead of feeling entitled to an audience, perhaps it's healthier to remember that you can WORK to obtain one. It takes time but it's rewarding.

I've been saying that for a while, haha. Maybe they should fix basic mistakes before they waste more time on hypocritical ideological witch-hunts, lol

Honestly, if we're talking about what you see on the front page, that sounds like something users could set in their preferences, though that wouldn't resolve the issue of what people without accounts would see.
That being said, as someone with a small following, it seems to me that a fair percentage of the faves I get, at least from people not already following me, come from the time my submissions spend on the front page. And one the the things I like about the internet, is happening across art of an artist I like purely by chance.
From a few quick refreshes, btw, the oldest image submission on the front page at this time is 2-3 minutes old.

Writting Commissions Are Open <3
I'm not sure if it has been suggested before, but it be nice to have like some sort of 'Verified' seller for commissions.
Like maybe a circle around a profile picture that shows they're verified. Or some kind of Star under their name?

Included with this, I think it could be really cool to have like a list of Verified sellers, and what they sell, with links to DM them or see their profile.

Personally I think this would help sellers not have to advertise so often, or bump their forum posts. As well as giving something useful for people who sell written works instead of art. As this site seems to be built nearly only around art sellers, neither are inherently better than the other, but it does provide a few difficulties.

If this can't be done or would be too time consuming, would it be possible to have a forum for writing sellers, or some sort of sticker on posts for what they are selling? Maybe like a pencil or quill for writers, and fanfiction
Then like a paintbrush or a chibi for artists.

I don't think the verified seller thing would fly because it would require too much moderation and updating (they don't deal with business disputes). But I do think the idea of icons in front of threads would be a cute/efficient idea!

I think Fur affinity should add itself to the Brave rewards program so I can tip crypto instead of having to subscribe though PayPal.

"I say we forget this business and run."
I don't know if this was missed in the site restoration, a purposeful choice, or what, but: Potentially restore a bunch of the former staff accounts (Sciggles and Chase are two that immediately spring to mind) that are no longer on the staff list?

Just seems like one of those things better fixed sooner rather than later. Unless, again, it was a purposeful choice to take people off the staff list and condense it down to 'Neer, Yak, Luffy, and Flamingo.

Sounds like a fair concern, you should already be nervous about your personal info getting leaked but bank info potentially being at risk? that's a different beast altogether (although last time it got DDOS'd I observed over 1.3 million bot connexions and the site didn't break which is nice)

Will it be possible to log in with SFW activate? Or SFW be the "default mode" and let user chosse when they are ready to see NSFW art? Please.

You can also not log in and that will automatically just you SFW art, though some account you can't see without logging in.

Isn't that the default already? When you sign up to FA you have to manually select the option to view NSFW art.
There is a chance users could be intentionally posting art under the wrong rating and that's why you're seeing it.

I checked. Maybe if it's happening to me is because I use firefox pulgins (the culprit is probably No Script because it tends to not let websites works the way they are coded for, but it protects from malevolent scripts too.) I'll just need to find the nam of the script and allow it now. Thank you.
