There is a shock image troll constantly coming back, there NEEDS to be a barrier to even stop this

could 1. start a 8 hour delay on any posting of submissions 2. have a program that recognizes these kinds of images and 3. have a ip blocker, just because vpns exist doesn't mean everyone is gonna go through the trouble of getting one

also work with the person who made filter affinity, seriously

Fallow offers a fair point. Also, I feel the need to add that slowing down trolls even a little bit is better than not slowing them down at all.
exactly, if it takes too much effort they will feel its too much effort and weed them out

making it harder for them to start over will just drag them down and make it feel like a waste of time

I'm making my comment with no knowledge of how much computational resources discord puts in to scanning input, btw.

I don't know whether it is feasible for FA; I just know it is something discord does.

i don't know if this has been suggested, but in my opinion, change the tags that 'mature' is now 'adult' and 'adult' is now 'extreme' which would be for extreme/disturbing fetishes like snuff, scat etc.

because mature doesn't really seem to have many applications, and some images could really disturb a typical user browsing the front page for something like mundane porn

I don't have much to add to this, I just really like this idea so I wanna second it.

I'm not sure if it's the norm, but I usually view "mature" as tasteful or casual nudity which isn't inherently sexualized. Gives a bit of nuance between extremes in my opinion.

More or less what the rating guidelines say. Though looking at what the guidelines say, it seems a lot of folks don't follow them as they are laid out. That is, Mature is treated as "R-rated" and Adult is treated as "X-rated"
But looking at the upload policy page, it seems more like Adult is supposed to be "R-rated" while Mature is closer to "PG-13."

the mature tag doesn't have to be removed, no, main thing i wanted to get across was that an 'extreme' tag is needed and a way to filter out things in it, similar to the SFW button that's already there

Could there be a way to not be notified of certain users' reactions to your posts? there's one user in particular that spams me with laugh emojis, including times when I was talking about being in physical pain due to a broken bone, it's pretty vile behavior

Maybe take your own advice, I have no idea who the hell you are and am not sure I've ever talked to you, not sure why you're that upset but you can definitely try not being that foul out of the blue
Makes ya wonder if it's the dude but they forgot to switch accounts.

Lmao.

This is my only account, and a staff member can confirm that for you, if you insist.

I would really love a "newly made journals" area on the front page. We have submissions, writings and fursuiting/crafts - so I feel it wouldn't add too much clutter with a 4th category.

Or even a way to add tags to journals so they can be search-able. I feel this would greatly benefit people who are both looking to advertise their comissions, and people who are looking to comission items. For now I just use the forums, but a lot of FA-users are not on the forums. When I search on site, the main thing I find are YCH-reminders. and they are fine, but nothing beats a well put together journal imo

When using the -tag thing that it would work with usernames with _ inside them.
For example if you tried a searching using the "-character_name" from the search listings. They still appear in the listings.

For the species list can we have "monster/cryptid" as an option?
Or perhsps "monster" and "cryptid" as 2 separate Options would be great too. "Monster" used to be its own species tag until it was changed to kaiju/giant monster. Some of us Have characters that are either both or one of these options but not necessarily a kaiju
Please consider :>
Thank you

Ooh, I have another suggestion. For the social media profile links. Can we have a linkedin and personal store option like ebay etc?
Also, profile banners! And maybe in the about me section ability to input orientation complete with flags of our choice like ace, bi, etc. :D
Also would love to have the ability to sort my favs with folders so I can find stuff easily.
Please consider. Thank you
:>

I have a simple species list suggestion: the echidna. Especially considering the presence of Sonic fans out there, I'm surprised it isn't there already. Just would be nice, I think.

Can you add WebP to the list of supported formats? The list is currently "jpg, jpeg, png, gif", can you add "webp" to that list?

The WebP format has much better compression compared to PNG, JPEG, or GIF. It supports lossless compression, lossy compression, and animations, so it can function as a full replacement for PNG, JPEG, and GIF. Additionally, the WebP format is supported by all major web browsers as of the last few years (the format itself was released in 2010 but these things take a long time to be adopted).

Commission alerts might be a good idea. Sometimes I see some art I like from an artist that I can afford to commission, only to see that they are no longer open to commissions. While they may have commission images ( I don't know the actual term) to alert when they're commissioning or a journal entry page, I often miss them because I'm busy, or distracted by other things. I think it would be a good idea to have a section to help notify users when their favorite artists are open to commissions. That way someone doesn't have to rely on posts they may miss.

Limiting reminders does NOT support artists. I think FA needs to figure out (first and foremost) who they support...artists - or - watchers. That is what it boils down to.
Ok so "some" people don't like seeing reminders in their notifications. However, how many of these so called "people" contribute to faving actual art? Not many unless you are popular.

Figure out a filtering system that ALLOWS artists to freely post reminders. I know many artists (myself included) who have posted REAL art over the last 7 years and got a max of 59 views and 60 favs. That is nothing compared to a "popular" artist.
To cut in before anyone says ""you need to work hard at it to be poupular enough for those kind of favs/views"" come in...7 years is a long time to still be a nobody.

Allow reminders more often, and allow those who like to go "wahh..but mommy" about it to filter it out.

I'm a artist. Personally, I like restrictions. You used to have to remind a lot because everyone did it. Now, with a limit of 1 reminder, the gallery feed contains less "commission" and "ych", more art is visible, and even "reminder" now can remain noticeable longer.

If you allow 3 reminders to be published per day, and 9 out of 10 artists do it, 10 will be forced to publish 3 in order to be noticed by at least someone.

At the moment, the problem is those who violate these rules publish 3 or more reminders per day.
Figure out a filtering system that ALLOWS artists to freely post reminders.
A good idea. It's as good as creating a separate tab for selling something.
On the other hand, I personally saw an artist who abused, post more than 10 reminders a day. Restrictions are needed.

Supporting artists is IMO more important than supporting sellers. That doesn't mean artists shouldn't be able to sell their work, just that sales should not be promoted at the expense of actual art that will remain in the artist's gallery long-term. But FA is a gallery, not a marketplace. As Eyleifr says, when there's a large number of reminders, that means less visibility for actual finished art. There's also nothing stopping you from adding a line at the bottom of the description of finished art to the general effect of "click here to see what I currently have for sale if you want art of your own."

Personally I also think temporary submissions of any kind are borderline abuse of FA's resources - submissions should be something you intend to keep in your gallery and show off long term. I know that's something a lot of people won't agree with, but it's where I personally stand.

A way to promote sales without reminders sounds like a much better solution to me than separating the "reminder feed" and making it free-for-all - it's more fair to everyone, doesn't inundate FA's servers with short-term submissions that people feel forced to post in order to remain competitive/get noticed at all, and is a lot easier to report/enforce (because evidence will be clear-cut rather than depending on what else was posted by the user within a given time period) than any kind of limitation. I've seen so many people that I know have been posting excess reminders, but I don't have evidence because I don't save links to a reminder submission just in case there's another reminder in an hour. (Most extreme I think I've seen was like... 15 minutes between reminders, or between original submission and reminder. Freaking chill, people!)

A random idea that just popped into my mind, but perhaps we could get some revamped emojis? I just have an extreme emoji problem is all LMAO
