As I noted here, there’s no evidence the flag actually in itself does anything other than say “please don’t.” Provided dA hasn’t completely bungled the attempt at introducing a standard for such a flag (by, say, failing to provide adequate documentation), my guess would be that it’s relatively straightforward as features go.
Yeah. The first draft of my reply mirrored those thoughts. However, it's "doing our part" and something that the community needs to feel safe, regardless of whether or not AI data sets respect it.

Real talk: We'd love to, but probably don't have the resources. Nevertheless, I'll bring it up for discussion.
Thanks! but in the meantime, our content can't possibly be safe on the main site then? this other person seems very hellbent on denigrating such measures but didn't explain why they think it doesn't do anything. Granted I'm not an engineer but I wouldn't blankly suggest that engineers are coding useless things, especially if said things are apparently expensive to implement.

No. And not just here, any site except dA. And even if it had the tag, that doesn't automatically make it safe. Noai tag is a gentle "pls don't do this" that they can decide to abide by or ignore.

If you look at the article DA put out about it its an html element that you have to insert into your AI's scraper code. It enforces nothing on its own.

Great job with the new update!

But what happened to filtering/at least the blacklist? I thought something like that was planned for the coming update?
I can’t recall exactly what was originally planned for the fall update, but I know Dragoneer mentioned a little while back that they reduced the scope of the update in order to be able to get the increased file sizes out even with the extra work created by the trolls uploading shock imagery.

ah that makes sense

But when will blacklists arrive?

Even just an e621 thing where you can blacklist artists would be very desired

Hey everyone! I don't use the forums all that much, but I wanted to drop in some feedback. I do enjoy the new look of the site and the profile banners are awesome; but the main banner of FA got replaced with Fender's and I'm not sure if that was on purpose?

My feedback is that this is a site for a community, and in my opinion I would like to see the previous main FA banner back because it gave off a sense of 'Community' whereas having someone's specific character art on the Banner seems very less so like a community. At least least, perhaps... give us the option of which banner we'd like to see?

Also, I'd love to be able to blacklist specific tags so if art was tagged with someone I would never see it.

Thanks to all the admins and staff for all you do, and hosting/maintaining a site that I use every single day!

Heya! I'm coming with a suggestion/question. I love the new update (profile banner and whatnots). My suggestion is to add a setting for profile dimensions, and maybe the banner, for people using 4K monitors. Currently the site looks squished with loads of free space on the sides.

Cheers!
Hugs the FA team

Tag & block is at the top of our list but FA's code is basically jumbled spaghetti shoelaces from 10+ years ago that is becoming increasingly untied and manageable with each update. A lot of the work that we are doing for smaller features that we can release at present help alleviate backend issues. It's less that we're pushing off important things like renames and tag & block (trust me, I want a new name, and I want to block some of this stuff), more that we're finding smaller things we ca implement as we tidy up.

I use the modern version of the site, but I know that in the classic version of the site, this character is represented instead of a banner. And I like how a modern banner looks now. It is cozy.

Periodically the 2-factor emails for this forum never arrive in my inbox.
They don't go to spam or some other folder; they just never arrive and I have to resort to a backup code.

I am worried about inadvertently losing access to my account.

How would I recover it if the forum just didn't send any emails to me?

This is something I worry about so much.
I worry about how so many things rely on email or smart phone, when access to those things is so eminently losable.

If I don't appear for several days somebody try to contact me through my discord I guess. :\

I always get emails. Try another mailbox? I mean, don't create a second gmail, for example, try a completely different service.

I've heard a lot of complaints about gmail mailboxes. Some sites also do not recommend using them, because emails simply do not come. If you use gmail, this is Google's problem, not websites.
I've never used Google, because Google services are just inconvenient for me (and unreliable lol), but I created a mailbox a few days ago in the hope of contacting the artist. I don't even know if he got my email? Will I receive his email? I'm definitely not going to use this box in the future.

You'd just email accounts@furaffinity.net

I also always get emails and have to authenticate every time I log in because admin.

I did eventually get the emails by the way, just super late.
So I assume they got lost on their journeys through the interweb.

I don't know if this thread applies to the upcoming discord server, but I think the server should have a verification system where you need to connect your FA account to gain access. This alone should significantly reduce trolling.

It doesn't, this if for main site. Check the Discord preview thread for those. We can't do this verification currently.

would it be possible to have a stageing area join, and then have a bot(may have to be a moderator) ask then for a fa account name, and then send a signal to the main site to send a message to the account asking to confirm it?

No, we'll eventually have a Patreon-style connection.
