Why I hate Word. I've been using Open Office at home, but I have to use Word at work. And I don't like either of them, really. But Word is by far the worst. It isn't so bad until you attempt to use the stupid grammer corrector thing. Which doesn't work. Well, it's not so much that it doesn't work, but that it gives you stupid suggestions that make no sense.
MS Word would get a 2 out of 5 in my book because the only think really useful about it is that you can type up things with it and it has a decent dictionary.
Open Office would get a 3 out of 5. It doesn't have the annoyingly pathetic grammer editor, but it does have the WORST DICTIONARY EVER. Really? You don't know what a movie is? Or a mom? Seriously?
Apple's Pages is still the best word processor I have ever used period. Easy-one click note writer lets you make notes and comments to yourself in the margines. You can also have people edit your story or whatever in different colors, which is awesome. The Proofreader actually READS the paragraphs and sentences and points out actual grammatical errors instead of the nonsense Word does. And now, with Pages '09's "Full Screen Mode" you can turn on iTunes, and just sit there and write or read without anything else to distract you. Seriously, Pages gets a big ol' 5 out of 5 in my opinion.
