Would now be a good time to point out that Paul Stanley is 70 and Gene Simmons is 72 and they're still at it? :)

As are Mick Jagger (78), Keith Richards (78), Ronnie Wood (74), Bob Weir (74), Bill Kreutzmann (75), Mickey Hart (78), Bob Dylan (80), Willie Nelson (88)...just in case any graymuzzles are feeling "old"...

(The last time I saw Bill Monroe live he was 82 and he kicked ass.)

I do agree with what's already been said "it's a state of mind" I still feel the same as I did when I was 21-23 ..... don't know if that's good or bad. I mean I don't feel old.
Sometimes I get reminded that I'am older, like when its mentioned " this game is so retro/ old school " I then start thinking "oh dear I remember when this game was released and was cutting edge " gets me a bit nostalgic.
Oh well never mind, I Don't think I'll ever grow up

Not really. I'm 46 and wild as ever. It's all a state of mind.

I'm 44.

I wonder if i should consider myself old.

Cause i noticed some music and bands i grew up with like Nirvana,Black album Metallica had their music played on classic rock radio.

But seriously, that would make anyone feel old.

I thought originally that classic rock was rock from the 50's,60's and 70's.

And now there is elevator muzak versions of rock songs from the 80's.

I mean i seen on tv commercials with bands like Twisted Sister.

Bands like Twisted Sister are supposed to be edgy, rude and threatening to the status quo, they are not supposed to be music used in commercials.

I remember back when i was growing up when Dee Snider went before Congress to testity that his music wasn't violent.

I dunno - on a long drive yesterday I was listening to, among others, Mississippi John Hurt (recorded in the early 1960s after he was rediscovered at the age of about 70), the original Carter Family (recorded in the 1920s), and some Bach (composed in the early 1700s). Good music is good music, whenever it was made. Doesn't make me feel particularly old to enjoy such things. :)

Well, money talks, I guess. On the other hand...

I remember that too! The other two musicians who testified that day in protest of the "Parents' Music Resource Council" (headed up by Tipper Gore) were Frank Zappa and John Denver. Unlikely combination, perhaps, but all three were extremely eloquent and forceful and made the PMRC look like the hypocritical prudes that they were.

The president of the United States when I was born is still alive… but the two that came after him aren’t.

I don't know which one was the more insufferable busy body: Tipper Gore or Nancy Reagan. For awhile, I had those damn stickers on every CD. They were always bitchin' about Judas Priest and how they encouraged teen suicide. Judas Priest had nothing on Dickey Lee, who did Patches in the very early '60's
Down by the river that flows by the coal yards.
Stands wooden houses with shutters torn down
There lives a girl everybody calls Patches
Patches my darling of Old Shanty town

We plan to marry when June brought the summer
I couldn't wait to make Patches my bride
Now I don't see how that ever can happen
My folks say No, and my heart breaks inside

Patches oh what can I do
I swear I'll always love you
But a girl from that place would just bring me disgrace
So my folks won't let me love you

Each night I cry as I think of that shanty
And pretty Patches there watching the door
She dosn't know that I can't come to see her
Patches must think that I love her no more

I hear a neighbor tellin my father
He said a girl name of Patches was found
Floating face down in that dirty old river
That flows by the coal yards in Old Shanty Town

Patches oh what can I do
I swear I'll always love you
It may not be right But I'll join you tonight
Patches I'm coming to you.
Double teen suicide right there. Not even "Death Metal" is that death obsessed. Where were the parental warning stickers on Lee's recordings?

I'm 40. There was a time you never would've been able to tell that, and it wasn't that far ago: within a year. Now I just want to relax and I don't really care if things are dull. For fursuits, however, you will see me smile widely just like a little kid, or even give a toothy grin. Should I get a fursuit, you may see me gush just like a little kid, too. I will also totally be silly.

I'll be 39 soon, and recently getting started in all this, most people have been doing it for years..lol

Welcome. I'd say I've been around for almost 20 years now, and the evidence exists for me being a participant for 17. 15 if you want purely content that plainly possesses anthropomorphic qualities. (I only know the pic that goes back 17 years to be furry because I know it's the SFW version of a porn pic that has since been erased from history)

(I know this fits another one of the definitions of a greymuzzle: to be in the fandom for a certain number of years. (varies on who you ask))

To kids, probably. To adults - no. Old is considered old. I'd say...maybe 50+ would be considered an old member of the fandom? But even then that's by Fandom and not an irl judgement. Below would be just aged, like fine wine. Or cheese. Or a dragon's hoard.
I will forever now answer as being a 'Dragon's Hoard' when asked about my Age!
Thank you!
;-P
