Was curious about where the community stands. I'm planning on getting a partial because a fullsuit won't work with the image I'm going for. I don't know if it's all in my head, but I've been picking up a vibe that partial suiters aren't quite as "valued" as fullsuiters, possibly looked down upon in a sense. Not that I personally give a damn, just gathering some insight on the matter. Thoughts?

Who cares/dont know
I think the legs on full/half suits are ugly as shit. But I can see how having a full suit might be seen as "more furry" or something like that

No, well there are the elitest fursuiters that might but their opinion doesnt matter. Ive got one and most of my friends do and also there are tons of partials out there. Ive never seen nor heard of anyone being looked down upon for wearing a partial. Besides, my fursona wears clothes.

I think partials look good. If your character wears clothes often then you should get a partial. if your character is normally unclothed then get a fullsuit.

Full suits sound expensive, partials are probably more economical.

Partials can be as expensive as fulls, depends on the maker. I might get a body suit made but my mom and I are gunna make it. Shes really good at sewing and I wouldnt have to do the duct tape dummy. But before that I need to design my body markings and get down to my weight goal.

I feel like it really depends on who your asking.... If you ask people who don't suit period I have a feeling they'd have a tendency to say yes. For other suiters though I think it's more a matter of personal preference instead of "I'm better than you because _____(fill in the blank)" I have suited both full and partial and I think the selling point is what brings the character to life. Do you want people to associate a particular piece of clothing or outfit with your character? Then a partial might do better. If you have interesting/unique fur patterns, why hide it? A good rule of thumb is not give a hoot about what others think and just go for it. If people want to look down on you that's there problem. If people want to love you, well.... then props to you ^_^

I think they'd have to be a bit of a twit to say so, really. Especially in a fandom as weird as this one.

"Hey, err.. you! You'd better respect me! Please! I paid money for a full animal costume so people would like me! 'Cause you look.. worse than me! Yeah, take that!"

Partials seem to be very popular though because it's a much more economical choice. With the makers I like, the difference between full and partial is about $1,000, so I can completely understand why people go that route.
In my opinion, some species (IE birds) only work well as partials anyway.

Another thing is that full suits tend to add bulk and so as said if your character has clothes a partial looks far more balanced. Also you won't overheat so much. I prefer partials just because of the way they allow natural movement.

In the unlikely event I decide to suit up, I'd get a partial.

Why? 'Cause the costume really defines my character! You can't have a scientist prancing around naked, can ya?
He ain't that mad. Probably.

I think partials are cuter anyway, the clothes you can wear with them are endless, and you can somewhat change your appearance with a simple chane of clothes! I mean, look at this adorable couple!

Partial, most deffinetly. i think full suits look prity freaky.

You need foot paws, def dededefinitly footpaws. Without them your suit looks silly. And for fucks sake people dont wear skinny jeans and tight shirts/jackets with a partial. You look like a disproportionate freak.

And, this might go without sayin', but if ya have a partial, you gotta make sure that people can't see any of your actual skin! I've seen it a few times, especially with wrists.

Seriously, I've been to a few hangouts where this seems to be the undertone. Sad, really.

Absolutely. I've seen it too many times and it's so easily fixed.

But yeah, partial is the way to go for me because I can't pull off what Grunge is supposed to be without my clothes and accessories. Just like Batty and Twitch, the clothes are part of what sell it.

I have a 3/4 suit, so fuck all cuz I'm in both categories :V

and, well, I guess they can be kinda creepy.

But quadsuits...fuck those things. those are the creepiest gaddamned things this fandom ever invented.we need to kill those with fire. I'm just glad i've never found quadsuit porn yet, although admittedly I haven't been looking very hard.

Kitsune Cross

**** that **** now! Bitch
As d-batty said, I think partials are better because you can give it more personality with clothes

Can we just agree that fursuits of all kinds are really goddamn creepy?

As you have started to draw fetish porn stuff, you are not longer allowed to talk about what's creepy, gross and ect. Sorry rules are rules.

To me, a partial suit is just that, a "partial" suit. Personally, I prefer fullsuits myself, but that's just for me to wear. Whatever works for anyone else is fine.

I don't know of any animosity toward partial suiters, but then again, I've never encountered fursuiters in real life or been to a con.

Um....you just suit at home? By yourself? What's the fun in that?
