Patterning Bat Ears

I've been mulling over ideas for a Man-Bat costume for a while, and while I think I have everything else nailed down I'm stuck on the ears. I feel like the ears will make or break the overall look, but most of the tutorials I've found are for cat, dog, or pony ears. Can someone help?

I don't have any experience but I definitely came across a number of complaints when it comes to large ears. Definitely gonna have to find a way to reinforce them.

For a bat I dunno, the first thing that popped into my head is wire. Like coathanger. But that might be advice you could use as a last resort. XD
