A bit complicated, but basically the governor of New South Wales wanted to reduce the power of the 'rum corps' (the colony militia who were so-called because they were heavily involved in the trading of rum as currency) and after a lot of squabbles they decided to boot him out, but a new governor got sent in soon after.
