So much history
This year in aviation history, German meteorologist Arthur Berson ascends in a balloon to an altitude of 30,036 feet, setting a new record for altitude. For reference, the legal oxygen requirements by Transport Canada dictate that you must have oxygen supply available for all crew when flying for any period longer than 30 minutes between 10,000 and 13,000 feet, and constant oxygen supply for all aboard above 13,000 feet. Previous record attempts had killed or nearly killed those trying due to hypoxia.
