Well, since we're in 1914 now: This year in aviation history, the St. Petersburg Tampa Airboat Line starts service between St. Petersburg, FL, and Tampa, FL. Shocker, I know. It becomes the first heavier-than-air airline in the world, using an American-built Benoist XIV biplane named The Lark of Duluth, with a passenger capacity of one. The German DELAG was actually the first commercial air service using Zeppelins, but that was in 1910 and I missed it.
