Did you hear about when a German town avoided being bombed because it pretend it was in Switzerland? XD

I've heard something like that, yeah ^^

On the other way round, Americans bombed the Swiss City of Schaffhausen, thinking it was German.
This was 1944.
The people ignored the airplane-sirens, as they didn't expect being bombed.
This lead to 40 death and 270 injured.

The US Government paid 4 Million USD alone for this incident.
