I just can't seem to get to sleep. I have to deliver some books in about 3 hours.

I know that feeling.
(It usually gets me on a Friday night when I need to be up at 5:30 on the Saturday, 2am, still can't sleep.)

I don't know how everyone fixes their grilled cheese sandwiches. I put mayonaise on both pieces of bread, slip in a slice of American cheese, butter the outside, and pan fry it.

I especially fix weird breakfast food. Grits with milk gravy. Sometimes I don't make the gravy and just put in a couple of sunny side up eggs on top of the grits. Grits are great. You can put all kinds of stuff in them to flavor them. Bacon, sausage, cheese even. What kinds of weird foods do you all fix?

We call them toasted cheese sandwiches over here. I usual do mine with butter, cheddar cheese and pepperoni or pastrami, or crispy bacon.

Tried to cook a boiled egg with soy sauce once. Unfortunately, the egg wasn't hard enough...

Another weird breakfast food I fix is where I cook and crumble up some bacon, sausage, or ham. Then I take some left over rice and put it in the hot pan. I put in a shot of milk or water to soften the rice if it has gotten hard from sitting. I sometimes put in chopped onion or bell pepper. I then scramble 2 or 3 eggs in and stir it constantly until the eggs are done. It's great with toast and a cold glass of milk.

Grilled cheese sandwiches here normally just have cheese. Sliced American singles cheese melts really well, although I have had one like you fix. If you add an egg, you get what we call a bacon/ham egg and cheese or sunriser.
