Did you not know? I left a clone in my absence! I think the delirium is a side-effect - the mind can't quite be fully replicated as of yet.Minty!
What a speedy recovery you made! You were unconscious...delirious...you probably don't remember too much, but good to see you're alright now!!!

It's always worth putting a post in. There's likely to be some shared interests somewhere - you may even find someone as crazy about kidnapping cheetahs as yourself!A clone! Cool!
Heh, heh! Now I'll soon have 2 mint green chees in my zoo...
On a more normal, serious note: I have been looking at the Telegram group for Michigan furs, and wanting to post, so as to try to find things to do & meet people...but I am held back by the little short replies people make...I mean, I am not sure I can mange to type and have a conversation, like that?
I'll try, but am kinda nervous/worried, reading it all over. I guess there's nothing to lose; mainly just that feeling of alienation is hitting, where I feel old and outta place from most furries. It's kinda daunting...all the talk of smart-phones, gaming, computers, and stuff I know basically nothing about.
Guess I'll just stick with stuff I am happy talking about, food, art, writing, whatever other hobbies, and see if anything sticks.

Seriously, though, what's the worst that could happen? You don't know these folk, you're unlikely to know them outside the group, so what does it matter if you don't fit in? There's a chance that you will, but there's zero chance if you don't just go for it!!!![]()
I get the same feeling, especially when I joined my local furmeet. I'm the eldest there, or one of, at least. They're mostly in their early 20s, and I felt a bit anxious when I started in the Telegram group and then when I went to my first meet. I quickly settled in when I realised that with this fandom age is but a number. Age has come up, is usually met with a "wow, really? Cool!", then conversation continues. That's true. I guess it's just that sinking feeling of not connecting...and the fear of that. Also, I worry about being older than so many of them...it's just hard. I feel like if I was even 25 again, it'd be so much easier, somehow...well, I'll work up the courage, soon!
But damn, it made me feel old.

It's much like sexuality, gender identity, shoe size etc... people may be curious to learn, but it doesn't change anything. Your personality will shine through and people will like you for you.
Is it normal that the first thing that I noticed when looking at that map is that the main body of water looks kind of phallic?OMG, you're the oldest? Oh, God! Now I'm really doomed
But thanks for the encouragement. I'm not sure there's going to be any meets near enough to get to, but I thought I'd nose around...the nearest one is probably about a 3 hour drive, south. It's pretty remote here. There might be some interest in doing a small one up here; I forgot how isolated the Great Lakes make Michigan, all in all, geographically.
Behold!!!
A Map.

If you look at the North West Lower Peninsula, you will see a dot on a bay of Lake Michigan: Traverse City: and that's prety much where I am....the closest meets would be in Grand Rapids, and then, near Detroit...so, between 3 to 6 hours...
...what makes it more remote, is how the water cuts things off. If you go N, W, or E, you'll hit a lake, or wilderness...everything, civilization wise, is to the south.
Oh...and for scale: the land mass of Michigan in total is almost exactly that of the UK : )
It is odd to me, that all those cities and places, could be squeezed, into this one state!
Well, that's the lay of the land...certainly a peculiarly removed place.

Normal enough!
After all, the flag has a moose and an elk on it, that appear ready to try something....so we do have a furry flag

"If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you"... what a simultaneously mundane and pleasant motto!
(I was almost able to translate that on my own, but I didn't recognize the word "amoenam")
This is the coat of arms for my hometown. I was going to get the County flag, but it's very...plain looking.

Just look up Cheshire on Wikipedia and you'll see the county flag. Looks like someone's dad got hold of clipart in the 90s!!!But it's noble, and stately! Just needs a chee, in place of the lion : P
