I haven't seen them over here (going shopping soon so I'll see tons of them just to mock me), but I've heard the tag line and had a packet while waiting for my flight, they just tasted like any other packet of crisps (chips) I've had.*the glass that I was drinking out of my apple cider breaks*

As an american, I don't see the big deal with them either lol. Lays doesn't sell product in other countries? I would at least think that they would be in the UK, Scotland, Ireland, etc.
I gotta admit though, I do like how salty they are

In America, a lot of our chip (crisp) brands are pretty hard compared to the kind produced by Lays. They aren't usually as salty, either. I think it all just comes down to personal preference if someone decides that they're any better than the other chip brands.
I'm with you though, I don't really see them as too different (I'm not a big chip person, either) :/
