Quick fact while we're on the topic of decades: Introduced in 1953, the Corvette has been in continuous production to this day, spanning eight generations. However, if anyone offers to sell you a 1983 Corvette, they're lying. Due to production delays, the fourth generation (C4) Corvette didn't enter production in 1983 as planned, mostly thanks to quality control problems and parts shortages. To add insult to injury, the launch of the 4th generation was supposed to mark the 30th anniversary of the Corvette nameplate. The delays were so severe that the few cars produced for 1983 were re-serialized to 1984, and the prototypes that weren't re-serialized were destroyed. As a result, despite continuous production, there is only one 1983 Corvette in existence. You can find it at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
