Predators and Prey

Piggly Wiggly was founded in Memphis, about three miles from where I live.

It is a really cute theme for a chain; first modern grocery store, as I recall. I wonder how many retro looking ones are still left, with cool old signs, and such?

Well, maybe one day I'll start my Savings Skunk stores, and do it with a 1950s flair.

Hm!
*reemerges from the horrid Turtle Soup Limbo*
Terrifying, would not recommend to anyone. Ever.

So, what's cooking?
Not me, hopefully...

Oh cool, I grew up like three hours from there :)

I've seen lots of pigwigs around the south, usually in small rural towns. Most have the awning and wordage, but the big pig is pretty rare.

In or out of tune? : P

I hear them up here, off in the distance...always seems like they are running across fields in the distance when I see them. Funny, I have this image in my mind of coyotes always running, and never really being still.

That's why I call coyotes fox-wolves:D
I always associate coyotes more with the Southwest, are there some in the Midwest too?

Horribly out of key, it's beautiful <3

They're my favorite thing when Im traveling- I'll ride out into some rural old forsaken place after dark and be laying in my hammock trying to fall to sleep listening to coyotes yowling in the distance.

Sounds really amazing! Have you ever spotted any?
One day I want visit the outback and see if I can hear any howling dingos.

That's weird, I thought I was smelling steak before coming here... Must be coming from over there!

*runs away before the preds realize there is no steak and it is nothing but a ruse*

Grrrrrr...

Hi Mr. Turtle! Just to let you know...Savings Skunk does not stock Turtle Soup, due to being the most ethical of places!

@Ravofox ---yep, we have coyotes here, and they are on the rise. There are also some wolves in the upper peninsula of the state, but seeing one is quite rare. Often, people are really seeing large coyotes, though I think the two can breed, which perhaps blurs the lnes.

I know I've heard them in most everything part of the US, but they're definitely easier to hear than see. I'm pretty sure I saw one in Big Bend NP when I was there a month ago- definitely heard them.
And when you go to the outback take me with youuu...!

Cool! Yes, that makes a lot of sense!
Also, I can't imagine it's that easy to immediately tell the difference between a yote and a wolf, as they look very similar (I have an image in my head of coyotes being more lightly built though). And they're definitely pretty stealthy/shy, so no wonder they're hard to spot. Nice that you might have seen one!:)
Hehehe, be my guest!!:D There'll be dingos, kangaroos, koalas, cockatoos and of course foxes!

That's relieving to hear, because it seems BAD FOX is unwilling to part with their own stock of turtle soup...

this is due to maintaining supply in the face of coronavirus panic buying. we need to keep revenue going somehow!
