All this Soviet talk!

I'm remided of Regina Spektor's Soviet Kitsch LP, released 2003/2004, right before she got big, and a very fine album.

I got to watch a Concorde land at Memphis International Airport a long time ago. I just happened to be right next to the airport when it came in. Pretty awesome.

Nope, didn't get an alert :/

Well, I guess you could, but the word doesn't exist ^^

(I just noticed that "Fuchs" probably sounds very similar to a naughty word. It's not pronounced with k alright?) :p

Where's that map from? ^^

Have to correct you, "waschen" is the German word for washing. So it would more translate to "washing bear". I have no idea why though ^^
The German word for masked would be "maskiert" :)

Germany has such a large furry population!!!

I think 'fuchs' is pronounced with a 'oo' kind of sound, but still with a K. Might be wrong though.

Ah, whoops! 'Washing bear', okie dokie. Still very cute:p

Wow, awesome!!!! :):) Very, very lucky you got to see that!!

How is everyone doing? Well, I hope. Congrats on Australia putting out all those fires, by the way.

G'day Kee! I'm pretty good, but dreading having to go back to uni in 1 1/2 days:confused:.
How about you?

And yes, the fires are indeed all over:D horray!!!!!:D:D:D

Someone needs to make a campy barren-earth type film where all the trees were mown down during a pandemic to meet the demand for toilet paper.

Yusss!!!!!:p:p:p
*sends script to Michael Bay*:p

I'm going to go see the movie Onward tomorrow afternoon with Draconis and two other Furry friends, then dinner. Hopefully it will be a good day.

Yeah... I was just making fun of the time difference. It's 11PM Friday here right now.

I don't worry too much about having bad days because I have all my Furry friends to support me. *Hugs*

Dawww, that's lovely man!!!:D:D *hugs back and gives tulips*
Thanks. Yeah, you guys help me over more rough spots than you know. I just try not to complain much because I know some people like to do it for attention.

I'll post a review of the movie, Onward, tomorrow evening. I don't know what to expect with it. I kind of know the basic plot, but nothing else.

I'm going to bail on y'all early tonight. I need to get some sleep and I have to get up early in the morning to do some work before I get the rest of the day off. You guys are the best. I mean that. You really are. *Hugs all goodnight*

I'm currently writing a full length FACTS, but I thought why not post a mini-facts in the meantime?
Here's another incident which could only happen in the USSR:D

Particle physics is a serious business and, if in 1970s Soviet Russia, a very dangerous one as well. So dangerous in fact that a physicist by the name of Anatoli Bugorski managed to get shot in the face by a proton beam while working at a particle accelerator. This is basically like an invisible high energy laser, and is believed to have been equivalent to 76 billion volts. It burned a channel through his skin, bone and brain before shooting back out. All Bugorski saw as a light 'brighter than a thousand suns' before his face swelled up beyond recognition and was taken to a hospital to die.
Only...he didn't die, despite receiving radiation way above a lethal dose. Moreover, the lasting effects of the injury were comparatively mild (paralysis on one side of the face, deafness in one ear, epilepsy and fatigue), and was able to complete his PhD! Furthermore, the paralysed side of his face looks far younger than the rest of him, so I suppose that's a bonus:p

Damn, I think I remember reading about something similar where a guy got a rail spike to the face (ok, maybe not that similar). I think it was used as a study on how damage to the frontal lobe affects personality and behaviour.

This reminds me of Phineas Gage, except a lot more sci-fi sci-fa! I wonder how it changed him personality wise?

@DRGN Juno this is that guy I think!

gosh, it's quiet tonight

am watching a documentary on the artist Ed Ruscha...I really like him. Many people say pop art does not involve talent, and I think, yes and no: it involves having an ironic take on the world of the commercial, of advertsing, in which we have been so immersed.

I love Goya, but:

and we desperately need: (even more so, with this virus)

(oh...I hope I get to see some of his large scale works up close)
