Lol, that's how most of my family is. I can cook if I'm given ingredients, but I'm not one if those people who can whip up something out of the blue and have it taste good. I'm trying to get to that point, though!

I just tried making a salmon fillet for lunch. Did the skin side for 5 minutes, then flipped it for 5 minutes. Skin side was perfect, top was raw. I never changed the heat.

What do?
1. Apply heat

2. Apply more heat

3. Apply MOAR heat

4. Throw the ashen remains away and phone for a pizza

It's a super late reply, so you probably already trashed it, but when that kinda thing happens, no matter the food, I just try to cook the uncooked side and keep a really careful eye on the side that's already cooked. Sometimes, the food is unsalvageable, but as long as you're careful with it, it should be ok!
