When will it stop raining? We had thunderstorms this morning and there is a chance of rain forcast every day for the next ten days. We don't need any more rain. Everything is going to flood! Well, the good news is I live on a hill, so if everything floods, I'll be one of the last to go.

I loved the rainy bit in the spring in TN. When it says rain for ten days but it just stays misty and wet- overcast but still kinda bright and maybe a little thunder in the distance.. the whole world just kinda glowed <3

In Switzerland, it sometimes happens, that the fog stays on low levels. That means, that on mountains you have a clear blue sky while in the lower parts it's grey and foggy.

On the mountains, it looks like a lake or sea. We call that the "fog ocean".

Here's two pictures I once took in the Jura mountains (not as known as the alps). The alps can be seen in the south :)

What part of Tennessee? I'm in Memphis.

@Thrashy Beautiful photos.
Thanks :)

I was walking up there from the valley, was very neat. Down there, everything grey. Then after gaining some height, I was in the clouds. Since it was below 0, the trees and bushes all had ice cristals on them from the clouds.
Then I went above the clouds and on a viewing platform, I was able to take these photos.
Then I had to go back in the soup again ^^

We sometimes get fog that hovers near the ground. Two of the strangest ones are where the fog is just above the street lights. Another time, I was with a group of friends camping out and fog came in, but it was only about waist high. We were running around in the fog shooting bottle rockets at each other. You could squat down and see only legs running around. It was so funny and fun. I made a bottle rocket "gun" by finding a skinny piece of wild cane about three feet long. I could stick the end in the ground and "load" it by putting a bottle rocket in the hollow end. Then I could light the fuse and point the cane in any direction without fear of being burned by the firework.

Ah I love nature for it's "weirdness" :)

That's awe inspiring :')
If I get myself up and moving on the right day before sunrise, I can drive a half an hour up the hill from here and see something like that <3

@Thrashy Beautiful photos.
I'm from Knoxville but I grew up about three hours from you in Savannah, near Pickwick and Shiloh NMP.

Once in a while, we get "freezing fog" here, where the fog makes a slick, thin coat of ice over everything. And at times, the fog off the lake can get very heavy...or, depending on the temp, there can be a lot of fog as the snow melts/re-freezes. No shortage of water here! Fog always feels nice, to me: kind of soothing?

@Thrashy--looks amazingly pretty, and a perfect place for skunks! I hear skunks have been introduced to Germany/France and are doing well; I wonder if there's any where you are...aside from yourself!

The Jura Mountains arent too high, they're very forested. So I guess they would be a perfect place :)
And you can find magic mushrooms at Jura cowfields :p

I've tried to look up the skunk population in Germany, but couldn't find anything besides some single caught ones, that where usually exhausted. If there was a population, they'd probably get shot down due to "not belong" there.
Although they don't do that with racoons, which theoretically also don't "belong" to Europe.

There are some breeders nowdays of course.

Anyways, I've already made that area my skunk area. Foxes have to pay taxes and deers have to watch them :p

Here's a picture of the Jura mountain area, taken at the Doubs River in the French speaking part of Switzerland:

At some way, the Doubs river marks the border between Switzerland and France.

I've been hiking there once. Very beautiful nature, they call that region "the Canada of Switzerland" ^^

And in this region, they have a very good brewery, one of the best in Switzerland! :p

I don't have any money, do you accept celery and cute fox noises?
I only accept beer as payment :D
