I'm thinking of removing the transmission and driveshaft of a vehicle and then fitting a big stator to the motor to just make it a generator, then start with a small battery bank and an electric motor fitted to the rear differential. As I can afford it, I'll add more batteries to go longer stints without the 'generator' and ultimately remove it when it's not totally necessary.I've always wanted to do an EV conversion on something. I have a Porsche 924 tucked away in storage that I want to do this to eventually, but man, parts are stupid expensive if you want something that can move under its own power.
