Predators and Prey

I spent < 2 months rent here buying /building this and I can sell it when I'm done. I've got friends with bigger rigs with more complete amenities that make me wonder why this isn't a more popular route? It's really changed my life in terms of less stress, and the ability to save money and experiment with jobs and hobbies. I'll buy a piece of land somewhere and build a little something on it at some point, but for now this is great..

Also I want to to watch all these shows but I have shared Netflix etc accounts and I'll probably get weird looks if stuff like Beastars keeps popping up on the 'because you watched' section~

Van dwelling's becoming pretty popular. Buying an old van or bus (or wagon, frankly anything can be camped in if you're willing enough) is cheaper than a month of rent in Toronto or Vancouver. I'm kind of tempted to try it.

There's always room for some gypsy foxes, in the fandom :)

I'd certainly recommend it if you've got a little grit and can handle dirty/skeptical looks from people who don't understand (honestly that's the worst part for me). If I was somewhere where cold was an issue, id strip it out, put in some spray foam first and install a teeny tiny wood stove ^^
It's a popular thing online for sure and I see camper vans around now that I look for them, but it's still a fairly small movement with too high an emphasis on stealth imo.

I'll give it a chance, certainly. Maybe it sounds almost crabby, but I've never been a really huge anime fan. Out of the many things as I've explored about Japanese culture in the past, in some depth---literature, especially more modern (postwar-present), music, cuisine---I've never really felt very 'moved' by most anime, with a few exceptions. (I tend to like older stuff, as in 60s, and such; maybe for the stylized simplicity?)

Manga-wise, there's a few things I like a great deal, notably by Osamu Tezuka: I was able to read his complete series Buddha, and that was really amazing, quite a gritty, moving heartfelt telling.

So much of this boils down to personal taste, and I'm always looking for things that might engage me, in whatever genre they might be in or cross.
Honestly, I have a tenuous relationship with anime. I like some of it, but it has too much cliches. High school? Check. Fighting scenes? Check. Moë? Check. It can get tiring at times.

I would rather prefer Steven Universe, if I get a chance to watch it.

I've thought about turning my old Subaru into a part-time camper. But even if I insulated it, I'd probably only use it in the summer. Too much going on in school/work, and I wouldn't want to put my birbs through living in a car.

These will be used on terrain that is too rugged for the standard Mischief Mobile:

Here's a handy sleeping bag, for on the road!

I've got a friend out here doing this in a proper camper. He removed a roof vent and mounted a bird cage up top so his three parrots could spend time outside :D

Maybe you could fit a pop-top on the Subaru, that'd be uniquely cool!

Sounds like a neat idea, but the Subaru doesn't have that kind of roof access or space. I could probably fit something if I had the sunroof (and fabrication skills, and materials, and money, and time, and...) but there's just so much structure in the way on the plain roof versions.
