There's some statistic that says something like 60% of Americans aren't prepared for a $400 emergency. I know plenty of people dont have an extra month of rent just sitting there in case, and landlords esp. out here are milking every dime they can get from tenants (and people look at me funny for staying in a van :().
I'm worried about how many people this is going to upend even after the virus clears and what the response will be..

Not to mention the bills, which need to be paid even if people are forced to stay at home...

How many people will get behind on mortgage payments, how many cars will get repo'd, how many jobs lost for various reasons and there going to be a recession (since we're at that 10 year fragile spot in the US)

Edit: sorry for the gloom
Just combing over it with my thumbs. Stuff works out, that's just how it works ;)

Quebec just implemented a weekly allowance for anyone who's isolated and doesn't qualify for other unemployment insurance, and the federal government's looking at income assistance further down the line if the economy slows down enough. I have questions about how some aspects of the federal response are being implemented, but I'm glad they're planning this level of help for people.

It's weird times. It's a new phenomenon that grown to affect pretty much everyone, might as well tackle it together.

Also, here's Canada in two extremes:

www.guelphmercury.com: 'No new eviction orders will be issued until further notice': Ontario suspends evictions during COVID-19 outbreak

www.thebeaverton.com: Canada announces it will exclusively import COVID-19 from US

@DRGN Juno that's impressive. The only measure I've seen the US take (mind you I don't stalk the news too much) is the federal reserve dropped the interest rate hoping to coax people into taking out business loans. Apparently that drastic measure scared investors and the market fell even faster *laughcry*

Ah, that's alright. :)
Normal to react like this in these wild times.
*hugs*
Thank you fuzzy snek ^^

Those look good xD

You have much to learn about Timmies. Later, though. Go to sleep.

Unrelated: I was looking at air traffic around the world, and guess what I spotted in the wild?

This guy!

Also worth noting, look at how little traffic there is around Rome. This would be mid morning by now. Absolutely surreal.
