I don't agree. To this day I still don't get why French is being taught as the second language in my university Foreign Languages major, I believe French lost its importance a long time ago. It should be German, because it still has relevance in the international world and its among the most spoken languages of the Internet.
I'm off to fix some food.
The German word would be 'Krone' ^^Interestingly the Swedish Spelling is 'Krona' (I have an obsolete Swedish 1 Krona coin, it has a resale value of $6.48)
OkI'll do that.

Oh, I do not really speak Russian, just some Song Titles I know ^^
Hopefully no skunk!I'm off to fix some food.
And a quick check of the dictionary tells me that would be 'die Krone'The German word would be 'Krone' ^^

I'm seeing an image of a man sitting alone in a smoky a room, a grungy apartment which he can no longer afford, a little drunk, a little high. What he's worked for, for so long, has just been taken under illegitimate means, but the authorities aren't on his side. He prepares himself psychologically for vigilante justice. This is a song from the Soviet Heavy Metal Band "Aria", and means "Let us Rock this world" ^^
The song is pretty good (the whole album "Igra S Ognom") is
Well I would understand a Song in German ^^I don’t listen to Russian rock, because it is in Russian. When you listen to a song in German, you don’t understand anything, that's why you feel good. You only understand the word Deutschland, but what is it, why, who cares? I know English, but I can’t translate anything when they speak quickly, so for me Eminem’s songs sound like a lecture on mathematics — nothing is clear, but somehow it’s interesting.

I’m kind of the same, it’s the melody and the sound of the words rather than what is being said that gets me to listen to a song, (naturally I am listening to more German music to pick out works and work on my pronunciation.)Well I would understand a Song in German ^^
(And I do listen to some German songs).
I don't care if I understand it or not, if I like it, I like it![]()
You may be able to add part of Louisiana to that, knowing French would get you a long way in places speaking Creole wouldn't it?Yes
@Spilogale Pygmaea as a comparison:
This is a map with countries that have French as at least one of their official languages

Here's German (yellow = official language, blue = local minorities)

Nothing to apologise at all, I love reading your interpretations!Sorry, guess I'm having fun with that![]()
The French map only shows countries where it's an official language ^^You may be able to add part of Louisiana to that, knowing French would get you a long way in places speaking Creole wouldn't it?
It probably would be way too hot there for me, as I don't like heat at all xDGiven my alternate fursona is a fossa ( and just because it fascinates me) I hope to one day visit Madagascar. French would come in handy! I'd also like to see some of East Africa while over there, since all flights from here route via South Africa or Mozambique. Ideally I hope to spend a month exploring; two weeks in Africa and two on the island. Need to save my pennies and prepare for a lot of immunizations! But the mix of cultures, wildlife and landscapes very much fascinates me. And I like a good deal of music I've heard from S. Africa.

I'm a winter skunk ^^
Ah, 15 to 30 degrees in a normal measuring systemOh...it's actually not really overly hot there. In ways the climate is closer to being Mediterranean given how far south of the equator it is and the effects of the oceans. Temps in Madagascar are going to range from 55f to 85f, mostly. (farther north and inland in Africa would be warmer, at lower elevations but cooler in the mountain highlands)
So this part of the continent is a bit drier/cooler. Perhaps I'll even see a few Cheetahs on The Savannah. : )
I don't agree.
French is spoken in more countries than France, a lot of African countries are French speaking.
While German is only spoken in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
French is a good langue to learn (and also spoken in the West of Switzerland ^^ )
I'm still not quite sure, while French is spoken in many African countries not many people are interested in them besides for business because of the rare metal production, and you can pretty much get away just fine in those countries with English and still being able to learn about their culture. French may be spoken in many places, but it is not relevant anymore. Now have a language conversation or ask anyone which language are they interested in, and German will come out immediately, but no French. Besides, German is a much more popular and interesting language, rooted in much of the European cultures. So my opinion is the same, it should be German.@Spilogale Pygmaea as a comparison:

That's what I've been thinking of, but if I had to take priority into account, I would reverse the the system so instead of French being taught as the second language in the Foreign Languages major and German as an optional extracurricular language, German would be first and then French. Why not both?![]()
