Stores here, even pharmacies, are now refusing entry to those without facemasks.
...I don't know what to think about this. It's a nice Catch-22 situation, isn't it? You can buy facemasks in pharmacies, but you can't enter a pharmacy without wearing a facemask. Ahhh...

Maybe there's like a black market for facemasks XD

It is an odd quandary. Is there still a lot of traffic, like in that one picture you shared? Hardly a car here at all...not that there's too many normally.

I finally figured out what this noise I hear at night is, that sounded almost like a bellowing moose: a very large hound dog, about a half mile away. I was unaware that dogs could emit such sounds; it looked so funny, seeing it with it's muzzle lifted skyward, emitting them. It sounded rather like the foghorn of a lighthouse, or the horn on a semi-truck.

One would get little sleep, with that dog.

I'm depressed because all of my friends are hiding due to this virus. Occasionally you'd like to talk face to face and not over FAForums...
Yeah, I noticed that the more extroverted types are suffering, while the more introverted people are in paradise. All I need is a coconut drink with a little umbrella :)
I hope you feel better! Just remember, this viral outbreak is just that: an outbreak. It won't last forever :D

I hear ya; it's SO quiet....even online, things have been kinda slow...almost like people are running out of things to say, because they don't have as many day to day things they have done, to talk about?

I'm gonna try and write some, and see where that goes; have been doing a lot more cooking and reading.

We had a bit of good news today.
One of the confirmed Covid-19 cases in my area has made a full recovery.
Also according to information from the UK government they aren’t shutting down online retailers so people who work in the delivery sector (like me) still have a job to do. We are taking precautions, gloves, sanitiser and just keeping our distance from the people we are delivering to, though it is a little odd to knock on someone's door, put the parcel on the step then retreat halfway down their path and conduct the conversation at distance.

No longer, obviously. The lockdown emptied all roads. Nobody is allowed to leave their homes unless you have to buy groceries or medications. Since the establishments here are are quite boring, and there aren't much libraries or any other interesting community venues, I don't miss going out that much. Anyway, these days, you are more likely to see this if you manage to venture out.

Wow, what a huge difference.

Here, you can still drive, and get groceries, and all that, and generally, you have to go 10 to 15 miles, to reach a store/get to town, so they are not stopping cars, given how rural it is. But it is very quiet.

I'm kind of the same, everything is very rural but there are less cars on the roads and most of what I've been meeting are delivery vans. The towns and villages are pretty dead though.
I'm actually quite worried about some of the small businesses in the area since they don't run on huge profits some of them may not reopen when this is over. There's a lovely Italian restaurant in the nearest town that has the best food but it's not very big and there is a cafe on my delivery route that has really friendly staff, an interesting selection of cakes and good tea (plus they mostly know my order when I go in now so that's nice).

We're still allowed to go out for supplies or to stop ourselves from going insane. But with everything nonessential closed, there's no point. Some online retailers are offering free shipping, so now I can be even lazier when it comes to buying things.

But if BC keeps being BC, we're probably gonna get a nationwide lockdown in the next few days.

It is quiet here.. I think I've caught what @Keefur has- I can't sit still without getting pulled away by something or someone. I spent all day doing my 'paperwork' type stuff too, namely taxes~
I tried actually physically writing down what I wanted to get done this morning while I was doing news/coffee and lo and behold it got done.. might've made a new morning ritual!

I sat on a conference call I got invited to this afternoon and listened to locals ask questions to local docs, county execs and a congresswoman about what's going on. Good information but nothing too new to me- still good to hear the communication. Doctors are largely unequipped to safely treat people here and this county has only tested 720 people (39 positive), but they're doing what they can with what they have it seems. I was surprised how many people were out when I went out last.
