Must it be a fox? Have you considered the unorthodox possibility that it was some other species? For instance, I know of a certain rat who is currently on a transformation happy spree. Wouldn’t that make slightly more sense than assuming a fox (who presumably thinks foxes are pretty great) turned you into a fox to spite you?
