He's right. Doesn't matter how enjoyable this is, my core beliefs are fundamentally incompatible.

The potions wore off just before the dreaded time, as you can tell by my improved "hand"writing. I'm now officially in the clear.
However, I still find myself plagued with feelings of disappointment. The alchemist (whom I should despise, having got me into this mess) dismissed me as failing the standards for being a rat. Pfft. As if I should care about his opinion. And yet... he served as a mentor figure, an assistant during my days of transfiguration, a guide, a friend. I'd come to respect him, as misplaced as that respect was. To be metaphorically roasted on a spit by my teacher for failing the standards of the species I was then... In a way, is disgraceful. If I can't even be a good rat, as low as they are (but are they so low?), how am I to call myself a good human? What if Meta was partly right in his assessment of the world? What if Leeroy Jenkins-ing everything with lances and bows-a-blazing isn't the best way to fight evil? What if dishonorable subterfuge and deception might lead to even MORE good in this world? Am I failing at the Council's— nay, MY prime directive?
I find myself confused and mildly distraught. This experience was a huge revelation into both myself, and animals humanity naively considers "below" them. I still think Meta is wrong about the world, mostly. I won't lurk in the shadows. I will strut, with my head held high and my weapons clearly visible. But there may well be a place for sneaking, lying, and treachery. I suspect the whole "two inches tall" thing may have forced Meta to solve problems of evil in ways that would never occur to us 5 foot tall humans. We should at least consider the wisdom the "lowly" rat can bring us.
The High Council of Elder Knights (I must admit I tire of writing out their entire lengthy name, I should propose we shorten it to the acronym "HCEK") launched an investigation into some incriminating photos. Luckily, my mere humanity quickly exonerated me and the issue was dropped (though I had to go along with the whole "April fools" letter misconception, unfortunately. Perhaps a little "rattiness" rubbed off on me, I can't even envision myself telling a lie of omission to the Council before this).
I intend to keep the tiny cloak and sword given to me by @FlannelFox as souvenirs.
Despite the bewilderment I now suffer from, I did learn something really important from this experience: never ever drink out of anything besides my hip flask. Just kidding! Really, I need to get myself a girl. Perhaps I could rescue a princess or something...
P.S. To conclude the day, I paid a horse to pose with me so I could finally depict myself as on a horse, as all knights stereotypically are. Not to succumb to pride, but I think I look pretty good."

(I didn't think of that! I'd have to patch together a lot of the plot events and/or dialogue with unorthodox methods, given the "logs" format, but that could be really cool. Thanks for the idea!)
