*tastes vanilla yogurt*
*ponders for 5 minutes*
*scribbles furiously*

"A revelation. Stunning revelation. All I thought I knew about dairy or even food in general has been upheaved. That anything could be so extreme in flavor, texture, and smell is still registering as an impossibility in my human-sense calibrated mind.
First, the smell. I can pick out the individual ingredients and even processes that compose this salubrious concoction. I can smell the strong yet subdued and diluted alcohol that played a part in the creation of vanilla, the fermented milk, the intricacies of how curdling changes it despite leaving some semblance of the original milk intact.
That's all before the yoghurt even makes physical contact. For the next sensory barrage, the tang is incredibly biting and sharp, but not in an unpleasant manner. The vanilla... mere adjectives fail me (I always thought I loved vanilla. I was wrong. NOW I love vanilla). The creamy and curdled texture is probably the only experience not significantly enhanced by the superior senses granted by being a rat, but in conjunction with everything else it's infinitely more noticeable and enjoyable.
I can only wonder what else is in store for me. Clearly, no speculation is up to the task of predicting what's next."

I need to stop... @metatherat, how does this look? Fear not: no sarcasm graced my pen this time. Obviously I'm nowhere near done but I'll take a break as you suggested.

This kinda sounds like a descent into madness, but written by someone very refined XD
I think you've been around too many potion fumes! Especially of the rat-transformation variety :p

*reads what has been written so far*
Yes, yes! Now this is more like it! You won't believe how bizarrely resistant people around here have been towards tasting yogurt as a rat! Don't gorge too much at once, though. If you accidentally start to associate yogurt with nausea, I will hurl myself off a cliff. :I

Yesyes. I have a good feeling about this. We'll make a proper rat out of you yet! :3

Oh, hi again, my rodent pal! don't interfere. I know what I am doing. >:3

*whispers in ear*
You're most likely right. Tis the price I pay for the alchemist's secrets.
Definitely the only reason I'm doing it. Yes sir.
*backs off and speaks loudly*
Thank you for the compliment. *stands on hind legs and bows*

*thinks intently* Hmm. Nope, drawing a blank.
Not surprising the character isn’t very well known (and to my knowledge is discontinued).
Here is what she looks like (With spider on hat :D)
ff1.jpg

She appeared in ‘The Beano’ from 2002 to around the end of 2010 in the strip ‘Freddie Fear, Son of A Witch’. It never had the appeal of the longer established stories but it was solid enough to stick around. It got really good when the more goulash aspects were dialled right back and Freddie’s mother became fairly incompetent at spellcasting.
I honestly enjoyed reading it and I think the artist style (Dave Eastbury if anyone is interested) was a big influence on my own style.

I've been trying to lenghten the time they last. Consider this experimentation. Uh. Drink this one, too. *gives RAT TRANSFORMATION POTION*
I've become your lab rat. Oh, the indignity!
Then again, about half of apprenticeships on record devolved into experimentations before their conclusions so I guess this is what I signed up for.

*slowly drinks, is very full*

Ah! Thanks for the illumination. I've never read The Beano, although I know of it. It was never brought over to Finland :3

Ok...I think that's enough. You'll drown if we keep this up. You have done well. Take the rest of the night off. :3
Thank you!
You're most welcome, Spilo! Hehe.*nuzzles*

I thank thee, master.
*drags self to bag, dons cloak and takes sword*
Tis no armor, nor lance, nor boots, nor bow. Does one even need those things? Nay! *sword swipe* I can do all I once did and more, with equipment or without!
*begins relearning swordplay by hacking at leafs on low branches as targets*
I mean, *swipe* I guess it doesn't *whoosh* make much sense *thrust* to practice right now *slice slice* seeing as I'm only establishing muscle memory for being a rat.
...
*continues*
you know, just in case I don't wanna... you know...
*switches leafs for wood target and hacks ferociously*
