Predators and Prey

Huh, maybe I will try to make a map of Skunk Hollow. I'm not really good at drawing, especially in three-d, but maybe if I just make it kinda like a topographical map, with the places on it. Have to see if there's some colored pencils, and paper around here...

...also @TR273: I need to find that map you did of PvP 'land'! That was very inspiring.
I'd love to see that~!
I've been meaning to create some sort of map for Anura Village, myself, with all the places: Guifrog's mushroom-house, the Cecora Market, Gonzaga the Monkey's forest, the rivers and bridges, the Sipaliwini Savannah area... Last time I crafted something like this was, I don't know, maybe at that time when I'd own a Genesis and wrote manuals for a few imaginary Sonic games

Wasn't Brazil a hotspot for SEGA games? Ahhh, Tectoy...
YEEEEEEES it still exists! Tectoy translated a few titles directly from their Japanese versions, most notably the Phantasy Star series, and remix games like Wonder Boy to present characters from our comics - in this case, Monica's Gang. So Wonder Boy in Monster Land turned into Mônica no Castelo do Dragão (Monica in the Dragon Castle) :p

A commendable company!
Now that I think about it, Japanese media has always been big here... I remember watching anime like Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball and Shurato dubbed in Portuguese on Broadcast TV during the 90's. They'd sell lots of goodies, action figures, vynil and stuff. Maybe it helps that we have one rather large Japanese community, mostly concentrated in the Southern region

Ah yeah, the Japanese did emigrate in waves to Latin America sometime after the Meiji Revolution. Most of them seem to have stayed, unlike in other continents. In the US, they're most prominent in Hawaii. In Los Angeles, though, it's slowly becoming a historical community...

Anyone notice that Keefurvia and Cutter Catalina are effectively "cut off" from the rest of the world. I swear... eat a few prey and no one forgets. ;)
I'm still trying to figure out how to explain the weird climate. Keefurvia is (usually) snowbound, but it's right next to Cheetah City which is basically Miami:confused:.

Need some help world building? I excel on figuring out the minutia. For example... Keefurvia is normally snow bound because of a mountain chain that has a tendency to channel cold Arctic air southward from the polar vortex. Persistant high pressure zones bank against these mountains on the western slopes and the down-slope winds warm as they descend. Of course, this would cause a lot of fog problems along the coast of Keefurvia which is why it doesn't have as large a port as Lesser Mouseland.

It's all a matter of air flow, moisture availability, and terrain. You also have to take into account things like latitude and elevation. I'm running a D&D campaign with my friend where the antagonists in the world (a race of snow leopards) are using a chain of elemental magic users to channel air down a chain of mountains to cause blizzards and give their armies great advantage. He is trying to figure out how to stop them.

I have an idea for the world here that could explain how predators and prey live close to each other without a war erupting. Predators, especially pure carnivores need meat. Fish helps, but not all predators will eat fish. In an RPG my brother published, I came up with the idea of "meat vats", where protein was grown in a vat so there were no actual prey harmed. Funny thing is after I came out with this idea, and before the work got published, scientists announced that they could grow meat in a vat and that it could possibly help end world hunger in the future.

This might also be explained by @A Minty cheetah's frequent 'boffing', thereby leading to a build-up of greenhouse gasses, and a rise in temperature.
