And thing is, if this got shut down, it would be really hard to get all the same people, regulars and the folks who pop in, to reconvene with the same atmosphere somewhere else.
LPW is fun for its simplicity and fluidity. It can move fast and if you don't read up then you probably haven't missed much in the way of developments, and that's okay but I want a thread with more depth. Open Chat is slow, but it also is supposed to remain amorphous and "open" unlike this thread with its maps and lore.. If we go to either of those places, they lose their unique qualities as well as us losing our own.
We need this space to do what we do on this site..
And sorry to be all drama llama-y, this has been tearing me up since last night..

Meta the rat went to sleep, curling up into an adorable little ball, while actually doing the slow draining operation you are trying to stop. It didn't cry, but the girl with the huge eyeholes was still all smiles, two cats raised their yaps, while two horses without tails cracked their slippers and kicked their heels.
The cat ate her potatoes as quickly as it could, using her four legs like a scoop, and finished them all in one sitting. She was so tiny, she could only hold herself up by the corners of her eyes, but a single glance could easily tell she was quite content.
Now that the rat was resting, the cat was given the same treatment and burrowed deep into

The problem is this thread has 'evolved' into something that doesn't really fit anywhere.
We have the competitive 'game' element.
The slower but rich lore and roleplay element.
The general chatting over the garden fences type community vibe.
The interesting F.A.C.T.S.
Plus the brainstorming ideas/playing off each other/ art/story creation bit.
You'll notice I said evolved, because that is what happened the game/thread changed over time so it has stayed fresh and interesting. Just take a look at the number of forum games that have withered and died after a few pages simply because they didn't have the freedom that this thread offers.
Speaking for myself I've met all you wonderful people in here. The thread has inspired quite a few of the pictures in my gallery. And although I try not to let it show, it had cheered me up on my really low days, its felt like coming back to a really cosy home when I check in here.

Yes. There were pauses between games. I think this is healthy. There is a little back and forth between everyone, and of course there is the "Keefur rule" that says you should wait an hour minimum between games so that it doesn't turn things one sided. If one group wins then obviously they have more people participating, so an immediate reset just keeps the odds in that group's favor, which makes things less fun. The whole point of the game is to keep things friendly and lightly competitive. A constant game doesn't give anyone time to reset themselves.

Past few days have been pretty bleh- I needed that..
Right, if I check in here the game can be fun, but it's never why I showed up. 95% of my use of this website is in this thread because of what goes on here- this little community is a gem.
After 3500 pages, you'd expect it to evolve into something and did it! Having the quality of it tarnished for the sake of the thread title is.. frustrating.
The Keefur rule is a good rule! Also didn't know Keefur had a rule
It's also fun when the games start naturally when somebody for some reason (or no reason!) goes "oh yeah? Reset! 0" and you find yourself scrambling to get in the game because the scarcity of them makes each one more important!
Maybe there's a worry that new folks from the outside will be confused, but often when thats voiced, a game starts right there! :3
