I took a step forward. They were already in the nest, like a little miniature version of Mom and Dad. Fluffy little fluffy heads bobbing happily, looking down upon me from their preened little furry bellies, most of them double-wide. All of them squinting at me, like they were trying to figure out who this odd little rat was with a fur-lined nose and tail and soft shaggy claws. Just when I was about to make a run for it and get as far away from them as possible, a one-eyed otter pawed my hand, almost nose to nose with the second rat,
