I don't think following does anything. The most it does is you can see if people you are following are online at the home screen.

Well, I’ve been here since June 26, and I don’t know either! We can be confused together! I’m just going to follow everyone, and if it starts spamming me with e-mails, I’ll stop following people! I’m fine with alerts, but not emails!

Did you know that you can unsubscribe from those? That’s what I did! I’ll be on here more than I’m on my email, and I kind of like having a clean inbox.

I don’t use that email address for much anyway, and if its a slow day putting my phone off vibrate and playing a different game untill a sound plays works well... might change after the summer or when its safe to go outside again

Nay, make all the fun of me you want. If I couldn't be the object of ridicule, how could I justify my occasional ridiculing of others? I really need to start going to bed earlier... I can feel the sleep deprivation kicking in... I’m usually a bit more silly when sleep deprived, but I’m just not really feeling like making any jokes... It’s only 9:00 PM for me... maybe it was all that annoying social interaction I had calling people in Australia for a family meeting... I’m using more ellipses than usual, so that’s interesting. I suddenly feel less tired, but now I’m feeling more tired. (That all happened in the time I typed that sentence.)
I am definitely noticing these effects. I used a new webcam for the first time today! I was horrified to find that the internet kept going down when I was in the video meeting. I am on a following spree, so if you are posting in here, you’re going to get followed!
