Predators and Prey

So Arishipshape, how long do you think you will be a rat?
The last time this happened, it lasted 4 days. So probably that long. Unless Meta has something particularly nasty planned this time...

Did you just have that pfp waiting for just such an occasion?
Indeed. My favorite card game, Dominion, has INCREDIBLE card art, and I steal from it for pfps everywhere. The art I usually use is for the “Tactician” card, the art I use for when I’m in armor is the “Sir Bailey” card (each Knight has his or her own name), and the art I’m using now is for the “Rats” card. Though, (spoilers) once I release my first story, I intend to switch to a pfp of my own illustration!
My ultimate goal in art is to make art that could be on a Dominion card, and hopefully you can see why!

Well, I’m back in internet from that five-hour car ride to the coast! I’m at a hotel right now, and the internet speed is 0.2 gigabytes... It takes me about 20 seconds to even like something, so I won’t be liking posts for a while. Oh well, the Oregon coast is beautiful!

That is the question I am least prepared for cause I have literally no idea what I wanna do for college or what I want to have as a job. I don't even know if imma do or what person it would be, if they are male, female, or something in-between. When it comes to big life decisions like this i am very indecisive.

Ok. A good starting point for those decisions is this: what do you want? Imagine you’re lying on your death bed right now. What will you wish you did with your time?

5 years: I’m wrapping up my college education and interning to set myself up for a job in either computer science or business.
10 years: I have 4 years of experience, and I’ve been, through a combination of self teaching and ambitious work habits, setting myself up to be extremely valuable in my profession through competency. I’m leveraging my experience and value to either propel my current job forward to executive level positions or leaving my company and taking my experience elsewhere, where I can advance.
20 years: Through careful spending and a carefully picked spouse, I am now in a position where I don’t have to spend so much time at work and can start a family. I’ve got 1-3 kids at this point and am spending most of my energy on giving them and my spouse the best life possible. My skills and history keep me valuable to my employers, despite the limited time I have to spend on my career, and I’m financially set with investments for both my and my children’s futures.

Well there are a load of things I would like to do before I die, but i also want to think about what is possible ya know?

It’s entirely possible for you to set the record for “most bubblegums chewed in 20 minutes”. But is that something you want to do? Possibilities are endless, and irrelevant: the question is, what do YOU want to look back on and say “yup. That was a good life.”?

“yup. That was a good life.”?
Like I said, I am super indecisive. There are things a year ago me wanted to do and there are things that now me want to do. I don't know who I would really listen to and i now if i should trust now me if past me is now me.

You have a point. Your values and desires change all the time. Instead of trusting yourself, why not trust people on their deathbeds? Think to what they say: do they ever wish they spent more time at the office? Do they ever wish they set more world records? Do they ever wish that they got a Master’s degree? Perhaps, but some things are universal: everyone wishes they spent more time with their families. Everyone wishes they reconciled their relationships. Everyone wishes they’d done more to help their fellow man. Instead of trusting your desires as of now, trust what everyone else ends up wanting and rig your life around those things. Then, when your desires inevitably turn to those things, you’ll love the life you lived.

I’m 17 years old, what do I know about living a good life? Take all this with as many grains of salt as you can afford.

Spoken like a professional. Thanks for the advice!

On a scale of 1-15 how would you rate your furryness. 1 being not furry and 10 being you think you are an animal where would you land and why?

I say just take it one day at a time. Life is all about exploring and figuring out what you like. That's the adventure!
You might not know now, but you will, eventually!

I guess A thing that also doesn't help is that every body expects me to know my major. Like my parents keep nagging about it and my parent's friends keep asking about it. It just really stresses me out cause that's such a huge decision that will literally affect the rest of my life.

3. I suck at being a furry. I never say “OwO” or “UwU”, nor do I participate in stereotypical furry activities like role playing or fursuiting. I am excessively formal, unlike the community as a whole. I do not see myself as an animal in the slightest, and take pride in my (IRL) humanity. I cannot get in the heads of animals and imagine what it would like to be one (much to my RPing chagrin (and perhaps feeding into my love of TF)). My art (and the art I love in particular) is specifically Pokemon art (or just humans), not necessarily furry art. I like furry movies but my favorites (Shawshank Redemption, Fiddler on the Roof, and Star Wars: A New Hope (which I guess technically stars Chewbacca)) don’t have furry characters. I refuse to reveal my minuscule furriness to nearly anyone IRL. I have proper grammar. 95% of the time, my profile pic features a human. To all appearances, I am no furry.

Oh my gosh, don’t worry about that! Most people end up changing their majors halfway through anyways. Whatever major you pick, a bachelor’s degree alone is a good asset that proves you are capable of learning things. Don’t stress it: pick whatever you think you’ll be passionate about (and then switch 3 times as you figure out what you’re actually passionate about)!

Im not really sure what number I am. I don't think of myself as an animal but i like animal themed movies and art. I particularly like animal art more than human art. I don't wanna like "do it" with animals cause that kinda weird. I also like being human. I like to think that I use grammar even though I could use some text faces and stuff. soo maybe like 5-6 i guess?

I know that feeling... and i even knew my major from the start, honestly non parents in my famaly have all basically taken a “0 toralance”(again can’t spell) pollicy on school related topics, ask us more then 1 time we won’t speak to you again for the whole day... (this was a big issue with me and my great grandmother... but because she has some issues)

also a hard one for me, partcaly because the range is 1-15 but the example posts are 1 and 10

and also because the term furry can mean 3 things to me, and my answers varry with that

my guess would be 5- or 6, but that is probably inaccurate, for me the biggest point is that the vaporeon character i act as on this thread is still a character with noted differences from myself, and although i am into tf stuff enough to make a path from me to the charater, its still a charater, not a sona or something like that(if i use the words right)

on the other hand, i have spent way more time then normal trying to imagine what it would be like to be an inhuman character with different limbs, and more importantly different senses and overall “model” of its outside world
