Good morning, you glorious balls of fluff :3

N-nasty?! Plotting to turn someone into a rat forever is not "nasty", it is doing them a huge service! Uh. Not that. Not that I am planning anything of the sort...

I don't play CCGs and am not familiar with Dominion, but I just have to ask: what does the "rats" card do, and how would you optimally tactically use it?
Suspiciously specific denials are both suspicious and specific.

Woah woah, Dominion is NOT a CCG. It is infinitely superior. In any given Dominion game, both players start with the same cards and have access to the same cards. No pay to win. Much fairer. Anyways, I’m glad you asked! Rats is actually one of the most interesting cards in the game. Most Dominion cards give you obvious benefits, like more money or allowing you to draw cards. But Rats? All it does is eat your cards and multiply.

“+1 card +1 action” means the card is incredibly easy to play. It costed a card to draw it, and an action to play it, but it replenishes both.
“Gain a Rats” is fairly straightforward. Another cool thing about Rats is, while most Dominion cards only have 10 cards in the pile, Rats has 20! Allowing you to gain a boatload of them incredibly quickly!
“Trash” means get rid of forever. Thematically speaking, the Rats are eating your other cards.
If you can’t see where this is going, if you keep playing Rats unchecked, they will eat your entire deck and replace it with a deck full of Rats that doesn’t do anything except draw every Rats and gain you the rest of the pile.
So why would you want to brutalize your deck with Rats? The key lies in the below line text and the big “4” on the bottom left. Rats allows you to take your crappy cards that cost 0 or 2 (like Copper, Curse, or Estate) and turn them into a crappy card that costs 4. In Dominion, there are some cards known as “trash for benefit”, which let you lose a card in exchange for a big benefit. Often, these cards care about the price of the card they’re trashing. For example, Remodel allows you to trash a card and gain a card costing up to 2 coin more. If you trash a 0 coin Copper with this, you gain a card costing up to 2. If you trash a Rats with Remodel, you get to draw a free card and gain a card costing up to 6, which is waaaay better. There’s a lot of other cool little synergies you can do with Rats, but this article is long enough as it is.

Rats is actually the creator of Dominion’s favorite card! He loves how quirky it is, compared to the other cards.

Rats is from the “Dark Ages” expansion, which, well, makes sense. I imagine your average furry’s favorite expansion would be the animal themed “Menagerie”, which I suppose Rats would have fit in just as fine.

Does this count as my episode of “FACTS”?

Oo, thanks for going to the trouble of writing that, it was really interesting :3
It also sounds very accurate. We rats do love to eat stuff *nodnod*. I just hope there is a "yogurt" card :D

Kind of curious how you would remodel a bunch of rats, though. I guess the implication is that the rats have eaten stuff, forcing whatever was there before to relocate, freeing up some prime real estate, which you then use to develop something more impressive than what was there previously, which is good for the economy. *taps forehead rattily* Yep, we rats sure perform valuable services for any place we infest.
...did I say "infest"? I meant... "coexist with you other species at" Teehee. *eats some copper and multiplies* :3

...I'm tempted to ask you what other “trash for benefit” cards there are, but I fear the implications might be hurty for us poor ratties

Hmm. So... the salvager salvages stuff the rats have spoiled, which adds value because... the... stuff the rats spoiled was private property, but the salvager works for the player directly, so the result is an increase in the player faction's assets. Let's go with that. Or the rats' poop is an expensive commodity, like bat guano, and the added value comes from that. *nodnod*

The bishop obviously refers to how rats have inspired everyone with their snuggliness and cuteness, and a religious subsect espousing the admirable qualities of rats have sprung up, resulting in much snuggling and increased social stability. I get it, yes.

And the apprentice refers to rat alchemists taking on apprentices, resulting in an increase in the amount of alchemists, which is good for everyone.
*pause*
...too soon? Too soon. :3

Anyway, come on. Let's go infest some estate. :3
