They offered a free voucher first, which I used to rebook on a different date. Some time later, there was a change in the schedule, which meant that my flight bound for the US would depart Korea before I transited there. The airline gave me a free rebooking, fortunately. Now, a restrictive COVID-19 test was the last straw. I have no objections to it, but virus tests have a long backlog where I live. I chose to fly on a different airline than get stressed out over whether or not I could get a negative result in the span of 48 hours before departure.

Yeah. Would have liked to transit through Seoul even just for a few hours, but the Korean government's priority is public health. Can't blame them, though.
