Predators and Prey

Same thing in my whole country as far as I'm aware. It's always others serving you gas

Whats the reasoning behind it? I'm genuinely curious.

I would rather do my own oil change.

Exactly, I dunno iv just always been that way with my vehicles. I don't like other people messing with them. I'm fully capable of doing it myself, plus its by far cheaper.

I think the reason for the ban could be that people could be stealing gas from the gas stations.

How? You put your card in or prepay.
If you use your card you get charged for how much gas is pumped. If you prepay the pump shuts off when you reach the dollar amount you gave the cashier. The pump won't work if you don't do one or the other.

I was just reading about protecting jobs for gas station attendants and what not but I can't see that being worth the BS in the grand scheme.

I also like Sunoco, Shell and BP gasoline for cars.

Beats me, I don't drive and don't tend to fill myself in on the details. Self-serving got banned in the 2000's before it even became a thing, but there's talks about reviewing the ban. Maybe it's just cultural. Not sure if we ever had that automatic system you're describing back in the day

That's just so weird to me. Iv been all over the country and iv never seen this anywhere.

I want it in black and green like the colors of Monster Energy.

There's this as well:
In the 1940s, when self-service was unheard of in most of the country, a gas station owner named Irving Reingold offered lower prices to customers willing to pump their own gas. The gimmick was wildly popular and soon became a threat to competing gas stations. According to Bergen County's The Record, "rival station owners reacted by persuading state lawmakers to outlaw self-serve," and the state legislature made Reingold's tactics illegal.
From some website. Am having trouble posting replies with links in them.

(Apologies is advance for spelling mistakes, I’m pain while writing. You will see why.)

Well, I was contemplating the subjective nature of reality when I fell off my bike on my right arm and leg.

I picked myself up and went back home and washed my hand with soap and water. It was bleeding a bit. I had something that looked like a rock in my hand, but it was dirt. Felt faint, got chair and sat. Noticed knee hurting, got iPad and then sent message to mom, started message to you guys (priority’s!). Thought of changing to shorts to check knee, felt faint thought better not. Got pillow to sit on for chair (washing hands with soap and water all between.)

Mom got home, gave advice. Argument over shorts: “I’m not taking my pants off! Give me shorts!” Finally got shorts, got them on, sat on bathtub and washed scraped knee. Argument over ysing “wound heal” a plant, or bandages. Picked plant at first, then felt faint and said “bandages are fine! They take less time.” Went to red chair (reclining chair) to have tweezers used on rock. Found out it’s dirt, wiped with damp towel. It hurt. Went to sink to try to wash out dirt, it hurt. (Dirt trapped under skin flap, had minimal effect7). Mom left looking for antibiotic cream, felt very faint. She came back, I was barely conscious. Got me neck ice pack. Fainted, stubbed at least 1 toe, maybe 2. Came back, I said to go to red chair to rest, lay down for a while. I got to listen to music, chose DM Dokuro. Good choice. Got antibiotic cream put on dirt, got bandage on hand, got ice pack on knee, relaxed. Asked for foot blankets, discovered stubbed toes when blanket hurt too much. Said so, stubbed toe. Blanket folded to not hurt. Got an apple to eat. Listened to music. Music playlist below:

If you’re wondering based on the art In The last video, no, I don’t think they are a furry. They claim to not be one.
Wow, I spent roughly 30 minutes writing this and now adrenaline crash is hitting me hard I’m going to stop now and post it.

Hope you had a morbid fascination with the story of my injury.
Totals:
  • 1/2 stubbed toes
  • One badly scraped knee
  • 1 hand with bleeding and dirt in it
  • Around 4 near faints, 1 faint
  • Swear words. (More serious than it sounds, because I feel reluctant to even type swear words, even more to say them.) I called myself a F***ing idiot several times. (See, I’m even retrospectively censoring them!)
  • Adrenaline crash happening about 7 minutes ago, but I wrote this for you anyway.
Ok, that’s it. I’m done.

Quick update: brushed teeth, going to bed soon. I wish I had YouTube premium so I could listen to this In the background, while writing the previous long post.

Well, I apologize for the somewhat grisly material in the previous really long post, but that’s what you get when you fall over when turning your bike at high speeds.

I may be listening to that song too much. I have memorized all the lyrics. (Yes, it has lyrics! Go to the description of the YouTube video to find them.)

On the subject of petrol stations, here in the UK, pump attendants are more or less unheard of. We used to have them up to the late 60's and early 70's but by the 80's they had disappeared.
There is one garage near me that will still fill your car for you and most will do it if they know you and you ask, (they normally do it for customers with mobility issues). But I've never had anyone fill my car for me.

We've got a chain that does full serve fillups. When I'm on my bike they usually leave me alone, but they're a godsend when it's -40 outside.
