Hmm, that sounds like how I am very uncertain about things, often adding a lot of qualifiers to a sentence that doesn’t need them. It’s somewhat like how some people say “um” or “uh” to gain time to think, which I also do. It’s possibly because I’m a very conflict-averse person, possibly because I’m indecisive, and most likely a combination of both.
(Wow, I really started noticing how much I use that type of word...)

On a similar note, I find I tend to use tons of unnecessary commas, when typing things in any internet/phone format. I wholly overlook the adage, "When in doubt, go without"

You are prey for the first leg or the round, but then if things go according to your plans you turn on them and eat them from the inside, becoming a predator

the briefest explanation i can give is they are a character in a book so you can't really catch them unless you were also a character in the same novel.
