It's very simple, @Arishipshape is a very unprepared parent, @ssaannttoo is a very moody teenager.
Also drugs may have been involved.
Anyway they seem to be sorting out their relationship through the application of combat.
(I may have missed a few episodes myself, last I knew they were about to go looking for rare loot in a temple together.)
