Meta the rat went to an alley behind one of Lesser Mouseland's fishing license warehouses to scavenge some expired fishing licenses for nest material. The rat made a great find when he spotted the very first item that was left behind: a license to the Mouseland City Rat Festival. With this license, the rat was able to start up an all-out rat invasion in order to steal the prize. At the time, the city's rat population was estimated at between 100 and 200 rats per square mile, and so the rat festival had a lot of potential for damage. However, the festival was so popular that it quickly turned into a large event, attracting people from all over Mouseland and bringing them much needed wealth and prosperity to the region.
