So (addressing @Arishipshape ) you wish to pay @ssaannttoo debt to prevent her from serving on this ship for a year and to do something 'nice' for her, which may or may not be a mild form of bribery on your part in the hope that by doing this @ssaannttoo will act a certain way in the future. However as a result of their actions I ended up with a wrecked stateroom. Now if you pay for the damage what will they learn? That they can run roughshod over other people's property and someone else will pull their chestnuts out of the fire? It's less about the money (though I like that too) and more about the lesson. I would have thought one such as you would appreciate the value of an object lesson.
Quite frankly I’d be thrilled if they learned to trash your stuff more often. You’ve shown such a ridiculous disregard for mine own property on so many occasions, I have no sympathy for you and feel no pain at your possessions’ destruction. You literally just stole my doors and windows and roof. Not to mention countless unjustified bombardments.
I’ve tried to teach them a lesson via brute force, dealing them physical damage when they destroy my stuff or attack me, but it’s failed. Do you think they’ll honestly learn differently from a different kind of suffering? I suspect the only solution here is for everyone to like everyone and let stuff go. I let the puns and pranks go, you let the stateroom go, everybody’s chill and we don’t turn this into a litigation nightmare.
It pains me to offer to line your considerable coffers further, but it’s the best solution I see on the table right now. You’ll be recompensed, Ssaannttoo likely ceases violence and frustrations against me, Lenago... well he stole my money so I guess I’m sort of paying his share too, not that the bastard would be grateful in the slightest... I’ll think about Lenago later. 1 relational bridge at a time.
What do you say?
