I acknowledged I was guilty and probably deserved divine smiting. The case went to the gods and I was ultimately forgiven. What right did mortal authorities have to leverage further punishment? The case against me was non-existent, so I was justified in dissolving it. I... did choose the convenient deception over the hellish cycle of court the truth would’ve necessitated, but... well, I can’t really say I saved everyone a lot of time and money because the ends don’t justify the means... damn it...Yes and I'll just draw your attention to this exchange.
I messed up in the first place with the accidental death of Lefeon!Santo. THAT put me in that position, and I intend not to repeat that. You’ll notice I haven’t tried to duel anyone to the death since.
What? No, if the choice is wealth or somebody’s well being choose the latter. The real difficult choice is between somebody’s well being or your integrity.Note made! I'll choose wealth over your continued well being next time.
Which admittedly you would have maintained had you turned me in in that scenario. So again, I wouldn’t have blamed you, but don’t sell me out for mere money.
...”web of lies” is excessive. I forged one paper to save a person forgiven by divine right.Ha!
Observe as the web of lies, deceptions and falsehoods you have constructed around yourself crumble like so many of @lenago 's houses!
But yes...
So it’s a matter of tense. A lie about the present is okay, but a lie about your future actions isn’t. Why?Because they are two different things!
A lie would be....'The box contains my secret stash of candy! It doesn't.
And example of me giving my word would be.
'Yes I will be your second in your duel with Harry the Hammer, next Thursday'. Next Thursday I'll be there or I'll be dead.
If I make a promise, I will keep it.
I'll not punch you in the next five minutes! How does that sound.

(She is joking a bit here)
Sounds good to me.
