Hey, you waited even longer than I did! I got my first smartphone in... 2013, I think, long after most people here had already gotten one :D
To this day I still kind of hate doing anything on my phone, I always prefer to wait until I can use a laptop or a desktop to do whatever I need to do, unless I am on the road and it is something crucial :D
