Well, I am just going by your English language, because according to this English dictionary, 'soccer' is a real thing, even if it's wrong.

Other than that, Spanish speakers like myself know the real name of that sport, which is Football. So yeah, the soccer ball rat would exist as either the soccer ball rat or the football ball rat, the correct name.

I think the asterisks are fine, they are usually used to describe an action.
The format seems to be:
Normal text is you speaking in character
(Or as yourself if there isn't any roleplay going on)
Asterisks if you perform an action.
*Sips tea while explaining*
(Brackets are used to speak Out Of Character during roleplay, e.g. if you need to leave or something)
At least that's how I've been reading it.

Probably not, it's a bit of a headache figuring out just the three. I may add more if we need to visit her future self. But I'm of the mindset that once a character's design is set you generally don't change it. Her daughter only has one tail, and I'm undecided on how many her mother should have... I'm leaning towards six or seven.
