I like the uplifting connotations of the act: This piece reflects the tight relationship between us teeming creatures and the universe as a whole, signifying that like a rat scent marking a prized possession or a thing they wish to claim as theirs, the universe scent marks us all, lifting its metaphorical hind leg and pointing out that we all belong to it, together, with a resounding, universal "MINE!" :3
