I'll be honest, this guy is the embodiment of "a good idea in theory." He puts his work in and it shows; he absolutely knows his stuff, breezes through briefings, and aces all his exams. But it doesn't translate at all to practice. Didn't pull the wrong engine this time, but he took so long to address it that he might as well have. I honestly feel for him. It's hard getting a good workflow going sometimes, and having wrenches constantly thrown in doesn't help. Problem is that emergencies don't care what you're doing at the moment.

I think he'll get it. He got this far, he just needs more practice. Which is what the simulator is for.

And yes, I've met people (mostly when I was still in the Air Force) who should be wearing helmets in public. I make it a point not to work with them whenever I can.
