And on an off-topic note... My smartphone displayed the weather forecast for a place called Monstrance to me. Where the heck is that?! *confused noises*
Google maps show either Brazil or the Czech Republic.

My location is turned off, so it's showing me info from surrounding places based on IP address
So I guess your either from Brazil or the Czech Republic?

Brazil, yep
How is it down there? What places would you recommend an American tourist to go see that is off the beaten path?

It's pretty diverse, like a bunch of countries in one. I live in the Northeastern region and can only recommend what I know from my state. If you're into Paleontology Archeology (@Fcomega121 I can't recall having mentioned this before), you'll find prehistoric paintings and interesting rock formations at Catimbau National Park

If you visit my town in June, when our Saint John's festivities take place, you'll be able to see bonfires everywhere around the streets, with families reunited and having barbecue, plus some traditional dance events

If you enjoy big cities, you can go to Recife - capital of my state - and check Marco Zero, where you can learn a lot about our regional culture, history, music and phallic statues:

We have a very active furry scene in Brazil, and a relatively big contingent of self-described furries locally as well, judging by the numbers in Telegram groups. I have been to Brasil FurFest, which is our largest furcon, held in Santos - a city in the Southern region. But they sometimes organize furmeets in Recife

That specific statue is popularly known as "pica de Brennand" (Brennand's dick) in reference to the artist who envisioned it

I've been to that plaza a couple of times, it's a great place to sit down with peeps, practice some skating and observe others going about their days. One of the buildings, the one at the far right, is called Caixa Cultural and it always hosts public exhibitions of art, history fairs and shows

You know, I can't recall having met anteaters, macaws or other animals commonly associated with my country :0 People tend to go more towards foxes and wolves just like they do on FA

There are capybaras and turtles though (long live @Groggy!)

São João? We have parties here to celebrare that as well. And Santo António too
What about São Pedro~?
Naturally, many of our traditions here were brought from Portugal. This is why your country is usually referred to as our sister nation, aside from being our mother! Wait, what... I mean. Because you guys colonized us xP
