I was under the impression you were born a rat?I was speaking me-phorically! :I
You and Ben never really understood consent did you....RAT TRANSFORMATION. *nodnod*
um... rats take food from people pantries no matter how hard people try and stop themI was under the impression you were born a rat?

Okay but once you reach sentience you are expected to not do those things.um... rats take food from people pantries no matter how hard people try and stop them
... ... and cats and foxes kind of eat then aganst their will
Are the fish sentient?character also kills and eats live fish
"usually not... wait how do you define sentient"Okay but once you reach sentience you are expected to not do those things.
Are the fish sentient?
Not sure, but "able to use language" is definitely at least sentient."usually not... wait how do you define sentient"
... vaporeons info says it eats fish pokemonNot sure, but "able to use language" is definitely at least sentient.
Hmm. Apologies, I learned philosophy in human lands and it doesn't always translate over well. To be honest I'm not sure if that's right.... vaporeons info says it eats fish pokemon
"is alexia sentient"Hmm. Apologies, I learned philosophy in human lands and it doesn't always translate over well. To be honest I'm not sure if that's right.
The program? No."is alexia sentient"
"but it understands language for the most part"The program? No.
It doesn't "understand". It cannot critically think, it is merely a large flowchart. More like an elaborate lever system where you can pull a lever and make something happen, except instead of physical levers it's verbal command levers."but it understands language for the most part"

A brain could be argued to be similar, but it is very distinctly different in many ways. A brain can change itself via learning, while Alexa must be updated by actually sentient creatures in order to change. A brain cannot be predicted as Alexa can, the "flowchart" doesn't really exist."but in some ways aren't the connections in brains like that"
(Magnemite is a fantastical creature that doesn't yet exist in the real world, but its AI has reached levels equivalent to sentient creatures, and thus is sentient.)(little less in context, what about magamite, or other fully computerized creatures that act like animals)
(my personal views of what is sentient is more closely tied with self awareness in a human like manor, although this also gives some crows(i think its crows) the label, although it also mush have memory, and some other things i cannot 100 pin down for my view)A brain could be argued to be similar, but it is very distinctly different in many ways. (also some programs do 'learn" things, even if in the background its just updating weights attached to notes in a data structure)A brain could be argued to be similar, but it is very distinctly different in many ways. (They can still only "learn" things they were explicitly programmed to learn. They couldn't learn TO learn. They couldn't change their code that dictates what code they can change.)(also some programs do 'learn" things, even if in the background its just updating weights attached to notes in a data structure)
(technically i don't think nural nets change any code, just the data they work with, although the brain could be the same way, as nothing we learn change how the electrical and chemical functions in the cells happen, just the state of the brain changes... even if more things are involved then i think people know)(They can still only "learn" things they were explicitly programmed to learn.
