He has this frog companion called Froggy. It's funny how the frog resembles my current avatar in VR, and the coincidence of having found this Sega cat in a random Nintendo scenario made it even more amusing

100% yes, I'd love to see that! Looks like there will be an aquatic stage, but someone asked whether it will be possible to stay in the water and develop an aquatic civilization. Not going to happen, apparently :<
