.: Guifrog's Odyssey Travel Log #3 :.
Still in Mushroom Kingdom, spent a few nights at Captain Toad's tent. No, I totally didn't beg for it uwu
(Twas actually Mario's suggestion. WHY the hell would I refuse?!)

I'd love to visit this place more often, sleep, join Luigi's balloon games in person, throw confused goombas around like THUMP CRASH BOOF, accidentally kick an occupied koopa shell to satisfy my irresistible urge and make it GWAGWAGWAGWA all the way to the pond... I laughed when I heard it, but kinda regretted at the same time. Not all koopas are bad, after all xP
In other words, figured I want my vacation house here. I asked the captain, and apparently Princess Peach welcomes people of all backgrounds to their kingdom - provided they're not bomb-ombing houses, bullet-billing people, or using their ghostly Boo powers to steal coins and stars.
Which means?

I'll get my vacation house! YAAAAAAAAY!!! Too easy, grab floating coins, make a down payment, pay the rest later with more coins. Lucky me, who has been traveling around the world to find enough :>
This neighborhood/colony is quite interesting, filled mainly with toads and koopas co-existing. Probably because it's located in the west, the same direction of Koopa Kingdom, and thanks to Peach's "all-are-welcome" approach. And of course, there are yoshis too:
YAAAAYY!!! Looking so good so far friendo!! hehe :3
your vacational house looks super cute and cozy so far!
I thought you'd make another mushroom to live in hehe :3
Awww YOSHI!!! <3
There is also this sort of variety store, where they sell toys, books, and general home utilities.

No, it's not a warp door. It's a normal door. Or is it...
And more importantly, as I have already mentioned:

A POND!!
That one on the far left is indeed a Lakitu. Looking for fish, or Power Moons, I don't know. Again, the koopas who live here are actually nice peeps. I even took a pic with one of them.
Aww hehe looking fresh fren! :>
I wonder what

Say "GERO GERO!"
It's the same koopa I kicked before. Not only the apologies seemed to work, but he told me he was used to uh, that kinda treatment. Like I wasn't feeling sorry enough at this point...
That's it. Can't wait for my new AAAAAAAAA!! @W@ Home. Ribbit?
~~End of Travelogue #3~~
Today's travelogue pics are from the private world I'm creating, so yes :> VRChat was made in Unity and supports Unity worlds!
Aww everything is so cute hehe x3
I'm glad you both made up and became friends hehe <3
he seems pretty nice and friendly~
I can't wait t see your new home!! AAAAAA! <3
Haha cant wait to see more of your world and travel logs!
haha me either! he's truly doing an amazing job!!
and even looks much better than many unity fan things I've seen, gui is a pretty skilled and talentious guy hehe uwu
Sure, I'll link you the ones I've found to be quite helpful with my case!
1) To use unity, you must download Unity Hub first:
Unity is the ultimate game development platform. Use Unity to build high-quality 3D and 2D games, deploy them across mobile, desktop, VR/AR, consoles or the Web, and connect with loyal and enthusiastic players and customers.

2) The unity version currently supported by VRChat is this one:
Unity is the ultimate game development platform. Use Unity to build high-quality 3D and 2D games, deploy them across mobile, desktop, VR/AR, consoles or the Web, and connect with loyal and enthusiastic players and customers.

eee! thanks gui hehe, I'll install this version just in case!
maybe I'll update to a more new version soon though but I'll keep this version just in case I make anything with VRC(and if it works) hehe ^w^
3) To work with Unity, they recommend tools like
ProBuilder,
Terrain Tools,
Water Shaders (I used the same one the guy uses in this video),
CyanEmu (for testing VRChat worlds inside Unity),
Skyboxes (to make the sky. You can find that any many other things for free at Unity's Asset Store),
VRChat SDK 3.0 (the plugin that allows you to test and import avatars and worlds to VRChat; in this case, I used SDK World). And the best thing is, many of those tools are very easily installed in the software through the Package Manage feature it contains~
4) A few tutorials and instructions I have checked for now:
-
How to create your own VRChat world (includes ProBuilder instructions, Skybox instructions and Package Manager stuff)
-
How to create terrain
-
How to make water
-
How to animate characters, NPCs and more
-
How to set up SDK World 3.0
There's also Udon Graphs, but I haven't managed to get those working super well yet. They seem to be the heart of interactivity in games when you can't be bothered to learn a new programming language, so I'm trying to figure it out.
Hope this helps for your future endeavors, fren~
Ooooh thank you thank you *bows a few times*
I'll save these for future usage fren (quite literally, I haven't used the forum's bookmarks since a long time ago, but I have a tag made for "my requests" so I can find them easier! hehe)
hehe thank you lots! I hope you can achieve your next goals soon fren~! uwu
I want to make games at some point, 2D and 3D. even if only to try things out for funz hehe
so many things I wanna do LOL screeee ^w^
btw friendo, if you ever need to rig your models (such as the celestial turtle you were doing for your roblox obby)
I saw that the raccooon uses a free app to rig models up! and I thought it would come pretty in handy for ya hehe, I hope this is also useful for ya fren! ^w^
