Wario and Abigor's diabolical plan was to cause the apocalypse by sending giant mushrooms all over the planet and destroying the world from within. The giant mushrooms would grow and spawn into even bigger monsters that would have to be stopped. A giant version of the Mario series character known as Koopa from Super Mario Bros. was needed to stop the gigantic mushrooms and save the world. Yoshi (voiced by Greg Cipes) is the one who would find this "Koopa" and bring him back.
